We are seeking an equity market professional who will serve as a Quantitative Analyst within the group.

Primary Responsibilities

We are team is a small group of hands-on problem-solvers focused on trading and data analytics. This is the team that created a buy-side trading platform that was launged last year. Our associates have exceptional interpersonal skills, smoothly navigate large organizations, and are sharply focused on client needs and flawless execution. The Quantitative Analyst is an engineer at heart, extremely details-oriented, capable of creative, independent problem solving in a diverse range of business applications. A strong background in hard sciences, statistics, engineering, and/or mathematics is a must, as is experience with programming.

Our Quantitative Analysts
Play a large role in driving and shaping the development of new products and services
Serve as subject matter experts on securities market structure
Research, design, and develop robust analytical offerings, including statistical modeling, financial market data analysis, real-time event processing
Investigate market signals, for example, price and volume prediction models
Create and support analytical systems used for comprehensive post-trade performance measurement and attribution
Work closely with internal partners to deliver robust, scalable solutions
Participate in the full product life cycle: proposal, technical development, documentation, training, and marketing
Enthusiastically and effectively interact with a wide range of people throughout the firm (technology, legal, compliance, quant analysts, product developers, project management)
Have a natural approach to sales and client interaction

Qualifications

Education and Experience

The successful candidate will have exceptional analytical ability, strong communication skills, and will be able to thrive in a very open team environment. In addition, the successful candidate should have:
An advanced degree in Engineering, Statistics, Computer Science, Computational Finance, Applied Mathematics or other relevant quantitative discipline
3-5 years data science experience, preferably in quantitative finance roles
Comfort with financial market structure, including market data, exchanges, equity trading, derivatives, trading algorithms, benchmarking, TCA, and market impact modeling
Comfort with computer programming, particularly including experience analyzing and manipulating large data sets
Statistical (R, S-PLUS, SAS, Matlab)
Database (Q/KDB, SQL)
General (Python, C/C++)

Skills and Knowledge
Strong analytical and problem solving skills, and ability to manage multiple, complex projects simultaneously
Ability to think creatively, make logical conclusions, and critical decisions without direction
Proven, effective verbal and written communication skills appropriate to all levels of internal and customer audiences
Effective time management skills
Ability to project credibility and authority
