Siemens, in Spartanburg, SC is a growing facility that has over 800 employees. We produce high-quality, engineered, and make -to-order power distribution equipment. We are currently looking for a R&D Strategy Manager. This role will report to the Director of R&D for Electrical Apparatus and will manage individual contributors. In this role you will be responsible for the product and technology development for Busway and Bus Plugs.

Responsibilities
- Manage a team of R&D engineers developing standard designs and configuration rules for Busway and Bus Plugs.
- Ensure the Busway team follows appropriate design practices, follows necessary PLM process steps, and meets industry and regulatory requirements including UL Standards, the National Electrical Code, IEEE Standards, ANSI Standards, Canadian Standards Association, NEMA Standards, and utility requirements.
- Work closely with product management to ensure the Busway product roadmap is filled for the next three to five years.
- Prioritize projects with input from product management, manufacturing, and standards organizations.
- Prepare and manage annual budget, staffing and necessary resources for the department.
- Set goals and priorities for department staff. Coach, manage, and oversee team development.
- Effectively set and manage expectations with cross functional teams and upper management on project timelines.
- Support internal and external customers with product and technical expertise as needed.
- Travel required will be less than 25%.

Basic Qualifications
- BS Mechanical Engineering
- 8+ years of experience in Electrical Power Products industry.
- 8+ years of experience in product design and/or research and development.
- Strong knowledge of UL 857 and NEC.
- Knowledge of CAD tools (Creo and Teamcenter)
- Detail oriented, analytical thinker combined with strong organizational skills.
- Ability to support multiple projects simultaneously.
- Ability to motivate and engage others to deliver results.
- Proven ability to work collaboratively with colleagues across the business to resolve issues.
- Working knowledge of manufacturing systems including routings, bill of materials, sheet metal punching and stamping, plastic molding, painting, plating, and assembly.
Preferred Qualifications
- Master's in Engineering Management or Business Administration (MSEM, MBA).
- Prior experience with codes and standards organizations including UL, IEC, CSA, NOM, NEC, IEEE, NEMA, and others.
- Prior management experience.
- Ability to prioritize and bring clarity to various, sometimes competing, viewpoints and options.
- Proficient with MS-Office applications.
