Job Description
Job Title: Diagnostic Imaging Professional
Job Specialty: Radiologic Technologist, CT Technologist
Job Duration: 13 weeks
Shift: Days 8am - 4:30pm
Guaranteed Hours: 40 hours per week
Experience: Minimum 3 years
License: Current ARRT certification and State Imaging License required
Certifications: BLS Certification required
Must-Have:
- Knowledge of CT Scan software, preferably GE and Siemens
- Familiarity with PACS software, preferably McKesson Change Healthcare
- Experience with Electronic Medical Records, preferably Epic
- Understanding of patient preparation, positioning, and scan acquisition according to protocol
- Ability to identify anatomy, pathology, and contrast enhancement on cross-sectional imaging
- Experience in obtaining symptom and relevant patient history to ensure medical necessity
Job Description:
- Supports and promotes the mission and values of the health organization.
- Acquires scans according to radiologist and department protocol.
- Informs patients of exams and provides instructions to assure patient cooperation.
- Assists radiologist during Interventional Procedures.
- Coordinates daily workload by scheduling inpatients and prioritizing emergency department patients with consideration of the outpatient schedule.
- Reviews IV Contrast Questionnaire with patients receiving IV Contrast.
- Completes documentation in the Electronic Medical Record system.
- Reviews exams in PACS for completeness prior to submitting to the radiologist.
- Responsible for the safety of all patients.
- Flexible to assist with the 24/7 coverage of the department.
- Arrives on time for all assigned shifts, including on-call, holidays, and weekends.
- Works until the end of the shift.
- Completes mandatory learning, competencies, and continuing education as required.
- Follows the dress code policy.
- Maintains HIPAA compliance.
- Cleans, stocks supplies, and manages laundry to maintain a professional workspace.
- Performs other duties consistent with this role.
- Routinely attempts to reduce radiation to patients and staff.
- Understands daily quality assurance and warm-up procedures of CT Scan equipment.
- Able to troubleshoot problems with CT Scan equipment and contact service as needed.
Working Conditions/Physical Demands:
- Must possess the physical and mental abilities to perform tasks associated with this position, including sitting, standing, walking, bending, stooping, and reaching.
- Lifting/carrying frequently up to 35 pounds, and occasionally up to 50 pounds.
- Some stress related to high-level responsibility for quality care.
