Job Description
Job Title: Radiologic Technologist, CT Technologist
Job Specialty: Diagnostic Imaging
Job Duration: 13 weeks
Shift: Days 8 am - 4:30 pm
Guaranteed Hours: 40 hours per week
Experience: Minimum 3 years
License: Current ARRT certification and NH Imaging License required
Certifications: BLS Certification required
Must-Have: Experience with CT Scan equipment and knowledge of GE, Siemens, and PACS software
Job Description:
- Supports and promotes the mission and values of the Health Ministry.
- Acquires scans according to radiologist and department protocol.
- Informs patients of exams and provides instructions to assure patient cooperation.
- Assists radiologist during Interventional Procedures.
- Coordinates daily workload by scheduling inpatients and prioritizing emergency department patients with consideration of the outpatient schedule.
- Reviews IV Contrast Questionnaire with patients receiving IV Contrast.
- Completes documentation in the Electronic Medical Record (EMR).
- Reviews exams in PACS for completeness prior to submitting to the radiologist.
- Responsible for the safety of all patients.
- Flexible to assist with the 24/7 coverage of the department.
- Arrives on time for all assigned shifts, including on-call, holidays, and weekends.
- Completes mandatory learning, competencies, and continuing education units as required.
- Follows dress code policy and maintains HIPAA compliance.
- Conducts cleaning, stocking of supplies, and laundry to maintain a professional workspace.
- Performs other duties consistent with this role.
Knowledge and Skills:
- Knowledge of CT Scan software, specifically GE and Siemens, is preferred.
- Knowledge of PACS software is preferred.
- Knowledge of Electronic Medical Record, Epic is preferred.
- Understanding of patient preparation, positioning, and scan acquisition according to protocol.
- Proficiency in identifying anatomy, pathology, and contrast enhancement on cross-sectional imaging.
- Ability to obtain symptom and relevant patient history to ensure medical necessity.
- Competence in routinely attempting to reduce radiation to patients and staff.
- Understands daily quality assurance and warm-up procedures of CT Scan equipment.
- Able to troubleshoot problems with CT Scan equipment and contact service as needed.
Working Conditions/Physical Demands:
- Must possess the physical and mental abilities to perform the tasks normally associated with this position involving a combination of sitting, standing, walking, bending, stooping, and reaching.
- Ability to lift/carry frequently up to 35 pounds, and occasionally up to 50 pounds.
- Ability to handle some stress related to high levels of responsibility for quality care.
- Must be able to perform all essential functions of this position with reasonable accommodation if disabled.
Additional Information:
- Up to 16 hours of orientation is unpaid.
- Holiday coverage is required.
