Job Description
Job Title: Radiologic Technologist
Job Specialty: Interventional Radiology (IR) Technologist
Job Duration: 13 weeks
Shift: 10-Hour Days, Monday to Friday, 7:00 AM to 5:30 PM, with on-call rotation
Guaranteed Hours: 40 hours per week
Experience: Minimum of 2 years
License: Required
Certifications: ARRT(R), BLS; ACLS preferred
Must-Have:
- Above average experience in cerebral procedures, coiling, kyphoplasty, spine work, stroke therapy, and carotid stenting.
Job Description:
- Monitor and interpret hemodynamic monitoring.
- Observe sterile techniques while assembling supplies necessary for medical staff entering the lab.
- Maintain patient and unit confidentiality at all times.
- Prepare entry site for procedures using sterile technique.
- Continuously monitor patient ECG and blood pressure while documenting and advising the physician of any changes.
- Participate in the on-call rotation and remain available for emergency procedures.
- Act as part of the laboratory's code team, initiating resuscitative measures as directed by the physician.
- Document all procedures and utilize the established inventory control and billing systems.
- Participate in educational and in-service opportunities.
- Instruct radiography students on patient positioning, technique selection, equipment manipulation, and accessory device use.
- Maintain specialization in neuroradiology and vascular IR procedures.
- Participate in the department's inventory management and performance improvement activities.
- Prepare patients for procedures and check readiness.
The facility uses the EPIC charting system. Scrubs are provided. Candidates must be available for on-call shifts, including possible holiday calls. The role requires a 45-minute call-back time, every third weekend, plus 1-2 shifts during the week.
