Job Title: Radiologic Technologist
Job Specialty: Radiology - X-Ray Technician
Job Duration: 13 weeks
Shift: 8-hour Days, possible call, Every Other Weekend, First to Float
Guaranteed Hours: 40 hours per week
Experience: Minimum 2 years
License: Certified Radiologic Technologist by the State of CA
Certifications: BLS, ARRT (R), Fluoroscopy
Must-Have: Fluoroscopy permit; proficiency in CT and Mammography is a plus; venipuncture experience is a plus
Job Description:
- Work in a Radiology unit with a team that includes Rad Techs (with and without CT experience), U/S Techs, and Mammography Techs.
- Handle a workload where patients are scheduled one per hour, allowing room to manage inpatients and ER patients.
- Use Cerner EMR for managing records.
- Operate Siemens CT equipment (64 slice & 128 slice) and Phillips U/S equipment.
- Treat a variety of patients including those from ER, OR, inpatient, and outpatient settings.
- Orientation varies by experience: 1 week for U/S Techs, 1 day for Rad Techs without CT experience, and personalized for Mammo Techs and Rad Techs with CT experience.
- Follow a flexible schedule, with staffing typically consisting of 15 Radiology techs per day. Non-CT Rad Techs usually scheduled at 11 am, with varied shifts based on CT proficiency.
- Be on call for holidays and possible weekend shifts, with the expectation to cover graveyard shifts depending on experience.
- Hospital provides scrubs for staff.
- Basic Rad Techs are encouraged to have a Fluoroscopy permit for performing OR and routine work.
- Advanced certification is beneficial but not required, with OR experience being highly desirable.
- Mammography Techs with tomography training are preferred.
- The hospital can cancel up to 4 shifts per 13-week assignment.
