Job Title: Radiation Therapist

Job Specialty: Radiation Therapy

Job Duration: 12 weeks

Shift: Day, 8 AM - 4:30 PM

Guaranteed Hours: 40 hours per week

Experience: Experience with TrueBeam and HDR preferred

License: ARRT (T) required

Certifications: BLS (AHA or ARC) required

Must-Have:
- ARRT
- BLS Certification
- Experience in medical records and radiology
- Knowledge of therapeutic procedures

Job Description:

- Responsible for the optimal planning and treatment of patients with ionizing radiation in accordance with directives from Radiation Oncologists.
- Treats patients using ionizing radiation while adhering to all regulatory guidelines.
- Monitors equipment parameters, documents any malfunctions, and comprehends all emergency and safety procedures related to equipment.
- Maintains accurate medical records and treatment schedules.
- Inputs treatment and simulation charge information into the prescribed system.
- Documents patient treatment charts accurately.
- Understands emergency and fault procedures for linear accelerators and simulators.
- Recognizes and reports patient concerns and physical issues to the appropriate personnel.
- Communicates instructions and procedures to patients and their families effectively.
- Maintains organization and cleanliness within the clinic.

Physical Requirements:

- This role involves walking, standing, sitting, lifting, reaching, stooping, bending, pushing, and pulling.
- Must be able to lift and support up to 35 pounds in handling patients, medical equipment, and supplies.
- Requires an intact sense of sight, hearing, smell, and touch.
- Must possess finger dexterity.
- Strong critical thinking skills and the ability to concentrate are essential.
- Quick responsiveness and decision-making skills needed for changes in the unit.

Education: Graduate of an AMA-approved school of Therapeutic Radiology or international equivalent required.
