Job Description:
- Perform radiography exams and procedures under the direction of the radiologist/provider, without constant supervision of technical details.
- Comply with ALARA and regulatory requirements to provide safe and appropriate care for patients.
- Evaluate schedule and orders, consulting with the radiologist and referring provider to ensure appropriate exams.
- Communicate effectively with patients to verify identity, ensure understanding, and clarify history.
- Conduct point-of-care pregnancy testing following department protocols.
- Operate radiography and fluoroscopy equipment using appropriate protocols and adjust technical factors as needed.
- Prepare exams for interpretation, ensuring accurate and complete documentation.
- Perform quality control, report equipment malfunctions, and remove equipment from use if necessary.
- Maintain cleanliness of the work area and adhere to hand hygiene and infection control standards.
- Transport patients using safe handling equipment and techniques, ensuring effective handoff communication during transfers.
- Mentor students in their clinical assignments, supervising appropriately to their level of education.
- Demonstrate strong interpersonal, analytical, and multi-tasking skills.
- Possess working knowledge of HIPAA, privacy, and safeguarding protected health information.
