Job Title: Radiologic Technologist

License: IEMA License in Radiography
Certifications: American Registry of Radiologic Technologist, CPR certification
Must-Have: Completion of a formal Radiography program with associated certificate or degree
Job Description:
- Perform radiography exams and procedures under the direction of the radiologist/provider, ensuring compliance with safety and regulatory requirements.
- Evaluate schedules and orders, and review with the radiologist and referring provider to ensure the appropriate exam is conducted for each patient.
- Communicate effectively with patients to verify identity, ensure understanding, and clarify history.
- Perform point of care pregnancy testing following department protocols for pregnancy screening.
- Operate radiography and fluoroscopy equipment in various care settings, using appropriate protocols and adjusting technical factors as necessary.
- Prepare exams for interpretation, ensuring all documentation is accurate and complete.
- Conduct quality control as required and follow the process for reporting equipment malfunctions, removing equipment from use if necessary.
- Maintain cleanliness of work area and adhere to standards for hand hygiene and infection control.
- Transport patients using safe handling equipment and techniques as needed, ensuring safe and effective handoff communication when transferring patient care.
- Act as a mentor for students during their clinical assignments within the department, assisting and supervising as appropriate to their current level of education.
