Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Conduct diagnostic imaging procedures with accuracy while prioritizing patient safety and comfort.
- Ensure optimal image quality before forwarding scans to the radiologist for evaluation.
- Effectively use HIS/RIS systems for ordering, tracking, and charging exams.
- Collaborate extensively with radiologists to facilitate immediate readings and assist in film processing as requested.
- Maintain a clean and functional environment, ensuring all imaging equipment is in excellent working condition.
- Manage the protocol for urgent exams, organizing priorities to improve workflow and patient outcome.
Minimum Position Qualifications:
- Current ARRT (American Registry of Radiologic Technologists) certification.
- Valid IEMA (Illinois Emergency Management Agency) certification.
- At least 1 year of professional experience in radiology or a closely related field.
- Strong foundational knowledge gained from 2 to 3 years of postsecondary education in radiology or equivalent.
- Physical ability to lift and move up to 50 pounds as required for positioning patients and equipment handling.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience within a surgical or operating room environment is highly valued.
Skills:
- Proficiency in using diagnostic imaging technology and software.
- Excellent communication skills to explain procedures and reassure patients during exams.
- Detail-oriented nature to ensure high-quality imaging results.
- Problem-solving skills to effectively manage and prioritize tasks in a fast-paced setting.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and act with discretion in all patient interactions.
