Job Description
Job Title: Interventional Radiology Technician
Job Specialty: Interventional Radiology
Job Duration: 13 Weeks
Shift: Day 4x10-Hour (07:00 - 17:30)
Guaranteed Hours: Not specified
Experience: Minimum of 1 year required; traveler experience required. Does not accept first-time travelers.
License: Requires license pending at the time of submission; must be in hand at the time of start date.
Certifications: BLS and ARRT required. ARRT Advanced Certification preferred.
Must-Have: Neuro experience, Siemens and Phillips x-ray equipment experience, PACS and contrast experience, inpatient hospital experience.
Job Description:
- Perform all interventional radiology procedures, including stents, angioplasty, angiograms, nephograms, kyphoplasty, peripheral procedures, biopsies, drainages, upper and lower extremity studies, abdominal and pelvic studies, genitourinary studies, vascular studies, venous access, and neurological studies.
- Required skills in both neuro and body procedures, including stroke intervention.
- Familiarity with hospital settings such as inpatient, outpatient, operating room, emergency room, Level I trauma centers, teaching hospitals, and community hospitals.
- Involvement in call rotations during weekends and evenings/nights.
- Participate in hospital orientation during the first week, available for classes each day.
- Handle daily case loads ranging from 13-17 procedures.
- Special equipment expertise in Siemens and Phillips required, Acuson preferred.
- Provide patient care primarily for adults and geriatrics, with some adolescents.
- Work weekends and evenings/nights as part of an on-call rotation; float requirements are none.
- Scrubs provided.
Additional Requirements:
- Completion of modules pre-start and annually, with hours varying by specialty.
- Must adhere to the fatigue policy, working no more than five days in a row or 60 hours in a week.
- Candidates must be flexible and open to working in various shifts or units as needed.
- Two manager/supervisor references are highly preferred at the time of submission.
- Must complete all necessary testing within the specified timeframe.
Orientation: 8 hours (non-billable)
