Job Description
Job Title: Radiologic Technologist
Job Specialty: Diagnostic Radiology
Job Duration: 13 Weeks
Shift: 12-hour night shifts, Friday - Sunday, 7:00 PM - 7:00 AM
Guaranteed Hours: 40 hours per week
Experience: Previous Radiologic Technologist experience preferred; one year post-certification experience required to evaluate and/or instruct student radiographers
License: LRT Kansas (applicable entities)
Certifications: ARRT-R Registered Technologist, Radiology - R.T. (R) (ARRT); BLS (Basic Life Support) from the American Heart Association
Must-Have:
- Knowledgeable in all aspects of Diagnostic Imaging, including Surgery and Trauma
- Effective time management skills
- Strong ability in documentation and patient care
- Experience with process improvements and scheduling
- Commitment to ongoing education and teaching
Job Description:
- Provide quality patient care within the medical imaging department.
- Perform high-quality images and exams, maintaining sensitivity to patient needs.
- Follow standards of safe radiation practice, ensuring safety for self, patients, and others.
- Serve as a leader and role model for other technologists, acting as a clinical resource.
- Perform diagnostic radiology procedures, practicing radiation safety.
- Produce quality images in a complete, accurate, and timely manner.
- Prepare patients for exams and provide instructions and information regarding procedures.
- Assist and position patients during exams, observing patient and equipment.
- Facilitate smooth patient flow and optimal use of equipment/resources.
- Communicate effectively with physicians, imaging personnel, students, and hospital staff.
- Assist with patient transport as needed.
- Perform IV starts and contrast administration as required.
- Input charges and required data for procedures and supplies used during exams.
- Complete required hospital/medical imaging paperwork for each exam.
- Prepare room, equipment, and materials needed for exams.
- Maintain technical operation of equipment, notifying service and supervisors of issues.
- Maintain clean work areas for employees and patients.
- Maintain quality checks and equipment maintenance documentation.
- Establish constructive rapport with physicians, staff, and system departments.
- Engage in professional activities and participate in quality improvement initiatives.
- Maintain compliance with all State, Federal, accreditation, and hospital regulations.
- Contribute to accreditation processes as requested.
- Proactively prioritize workload and adapt to changing technologies, policies, census, and staffing needs.
- Potentially float to locations within 60 miles as required and perform duties outside of original assignment per policy.
Languages: Must be able to speak, read, and write in English.
