License: Registration with The American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT)
Certifications: CT Certification, BLS - American Heart Association
Must-Have:
- Expertise in X-Ray
- Knowledge of Radiology
- Understanding of Radiation Safety
- Commitment to Patient Care
- Skilled in Radiographic Procedures
Job Description:
- Perform radiographic procedures to achieve desired radiographic results as per physician specifications.
- Transfer patients for examinations and use ionizing radiation for radiologic diagnosis.
- Assist with the X-ray examination process.
- Operate all X-Ray Imaging and related equipment appropriately.
- Educate, position, immobilize, and perform X-Ray procedures on patients.
- Coordinate X-Ray examinations to ensure timeliness, quality, and continuity of patient care.
- Follow provider imaging orders correctly.
- Submit required images and related clinical information for Radiologist interpretation.
- Evaluate image quality appropriately.
- Maintain open, accurate, and responsive communication with patients, coworkers, Radiologists, and leadership.
- Utilize, charge, and maintain department supplies appropriately.
- Practice sterile technique and follow infection prevention policies.
- Handle multiple tasks/projects and meet deadlines effectively.
- Safely perform X-Ray procedures including patient transfer.
- Prepare and administer contrast according to Radiologist protocol.
- Follow Radiation Safety Measures (ALARA) to ensure the safety of patients and staff.
- Supervise and evaluate Student Radiographers in the clinical setting.
