Job Title: Radiology IT Systems Administrator/Analyst

Job Summary:

The Radiology IT Systems Administrator/Analyst is responsible for managing and supporting radiology IT systems across all KPC facilities, including Picture Archiving and Communication Systems (PACS), Electronic Medical Records (EMR), radiology reporting systems, and imaging-sharing platforms. This role ensures system functionality, resolves technical issues, maintains data integrity, and provides user support for radiology departments. The administrator collaborates with IT teams, radiology managers, and vendors to optimize system performance and workflow efficiency.

Key Responsibilities:

System Monitoring & Issue Resolution
  • Monitor and respond to requests related to radiology IT systems, including PACS, EMR, and reporting tools.
  • Troubleshoot technical issues, resolve user concerns, and manage support tickets.
  • Ensure accurate report integration between radiology reporting systems and PACS.

Radiology Workflow Management
  • Review unreported study lists across multiple locations and resolve discrepancies.
  • Manage data quality by addressing patient record duplicates, study errors, and incorrect procedure codes.
  • Ensure proper study assignment and documentation for radiologists.

PACS Administration
  • Monitor PACS storage, archive status, and troubleshoot system failures.
  • Ensure smooth operation of radiology and cardiology PACS systems, collaborating with key stakeholders on storage and archiving issues.
  • Manage study descriptions, accession numbers, and system configurations.

Teleradiology & System Integration
  • Ensure timely transfer of imaging studies to remote reading services.
  • Monitor and resolve HL7 integration errors between PACS, EMR, and external imaging systems.
  • Collaborate with IT teams to troubleshoot and improve system interoperability.

Charge & Compliance Management
  • Verify radiology and interventional procedure charges for compliance.
  • Assist with regulatory reporting requirements related to radiation dose tracking.
  • Support billing and charge reconciliation efforts in collaboration with radiology managers.


User Management & Training
  • Manage user access and security permissions for radiology IT systems.
  • Train radiologists, technologists, and staff on system functionalities and workflows.
  • Provide real-time technical support for study corrections and system navigation.

System Enhancements & Upgrades
  • Assist in testing and implementing system upgrades and new functionalities.
  • Support PACS and imaging system migrations and consolidations.
  • Collaborate with vendors and IT teams on system integrations and enhancements.

Reporting & Data Analysis
  • Generate reports on study volumes, system usage, workflow discrepancies, and productivity metrics.
  • Support custom reporting needs for radiology leadership.

Emergency Support & On-Call Assistance
  • Provide on-call support for radiology IT systems to ensure uninterrupted workflow.
  • Coordinate vendor access and emergency repairs for system maintenance.

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Healthcare Informatics, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
  • 3+ years of experience in PACS administration, Radiology IT support, or a related role.
  • Strong knowledge of Radiology workflows, EMR systems (Sunrise, Paragon), and PACS solutions.
  • Experience with HL7 interfaces and Teleradiology integration.
  • Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong communication and collaboration abilities, with experience working in healthcare IT environments.
  • Ability to work independently and handle on-call responsibilities.

Work Environment:
This role operates in a healthcare IT setting, with occasional travel to hospital sites for system maintenance and support. Availability for on-call support and urgent issue resolution is required.
