The Workforce Development Division (AFRL/DPD) seeks to hire a DO-0343-02, Management Analyst serving as the manager and subject matter expert for the Air Force Research Laboratory (AFRL) Recognition Program.
The position duties include, but are not limited to:
- Serving as a strategic partner and advisor to AFRL leadership, supervisors, and awards managers to re-imagine the art of the possible in AFRL's Recognition Program.
- Acquiring knowledge of instructions, processes, and procedures related to all aspects of awards programs, to include, but not limited to, competitive awards, honorary awards, monetary awards, and time-off awards.
- Analyzing current recognition processes and designing, developing, and implementing automated and innovative processes that improve the effectiveness and efficiency of the AFRL Recognition Program.
- Managing all aspects of the AFRL Competitive Awards Program, to include developing and implementing AFRL guidance and instructions.
- Providing authoritative Recognition information, guidance, decisions, and management advisory advice throughout AFRL.
- Overseeing all internal and external Competitive Award Requests, to include disseminating award information to all AFRL organizations, compiling nominations, convening selection boards, and providing timely, accurate and complete responses to the requesting organizations.
- Reviewing, interpreting, and disseminating Department of the Air Force, Air Force Materiel Command (AFMC), Space Systems Command (SSC), and AFRL policies, guidance and directives regarding Competitive Awards to all AFRL organizations.
- Working directly with AFRL Awards Managers to ensure proper implementation of Recognition instructions and guidance and resolving specific Recognition Program issues, problems, or questions.
- Participating on committees and working groups representing AFRL as the Recognition subject matter expert at various organizational levels internal and external to AFRL.
- Preparing and delivering oral and written presentations to convey information about AFRL's Recognition activities.

Required Qualifications
- US Citizenship
- The ability to obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance.
- Applicants must have at least one (1) year of specialized experience at the next lower grade DR/DO-01/GS-11 or equivalent in other pay systems. Specialized experience is experience in advising and managing awards programs. Experience gained in non-federal positions will also be reviewed for specialized experience.

- Communication skills - Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Knowledge - Experience in AFRL, AFMC, and/or Air Force Awards Programs and familiarity of awards guidance, to include the AFRLI 36-2801 and DODI1400.25v451_DAFI36-1004.
