Job Title: RN Recovery Coordinator
Job Specialty: Alcohol and Addiction Nursing
Job Duration: 13 weeks
Shift: 8:00 am - 6:00 pm
Guaranteed Hours: Not specified
Experience: Minimum of 3 years required
License: Current RN license required
Certifications: Basic Life Support, Crisis Prevention Institute (CPI) training
Must-Have:
- Ability to work independently and in fast-paced environments
- Excellent communication skills
- Proficiency in electronic health records
Job Description:
- Serve as a critical resource for individuals seeking treatment for substance use disorders and acute withdrawal.
- Act as a point of access and screen patients for appropriate care levels, facilitating admissions and referrals to various treatment levels.
- Educate individuals, families, and community partners on substance use, detoxification, and treatment procedures.
- Establish and maintain communication with community partners as an admission liaison.
- Collect medical and substance use histories for provider review.
- Schedule intake appointments and coordinate bed assignments.
- Perform nursing assessments and safety screenings upon admission.
- Assist in coordinating patient transport and collaborating with unit staff and security.
- Support behavioral units by covering breaks, responding to emergencies, and assisting with various duties as needed.
- Maintain required competencies and complete annual compliance courses on time.
