General Statement of Duties
Administers and oversees the various elements of the Town's recreation programs.

*This position is assigned to oversee the operations of the Town's Ice Skating Rink as well as other off-season recreation programs. Experience with ice rink maintenance, ice resurfacing and related ice rink equipment is preferred.
Qualifications
Education and Experience:

Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in Recreation, Leisure Studies or a related field, plus 3 years of related experience in organized recreational activity including 1 year of supervisory and administrative experience. Certified Park and Recreation Professional (C.P.R.P.) certification preferred.
Qualifications:

Proven knowledge of the objectives and administration of active and passive leisure programs.

Demonstrated knowledge of facility management best practices.

Proven ability to plan and supervise large-scale community events.
Demonstrated effective oral and written communications skills.
Demonstrated ability to work independently.
Proven ability to lead, instruct, motivate and supervise subordinate employees, volunteers, and participants.
Proven ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with board members, co-workers, vendors, staff, sponsors, and the public.
Valid driver's license.

Duties and Responsibilities:
Plans, implements and oversees various recreation programs, activities, and special events.
Manages specific departmental facilities or properties as assigned.
Evaluates the appropriateness and safety of recreational facilities and equipment.
Prepares budgets for programs and facilities.
Prepares bids in conjunction with the Purchasing Department and procures materials and supplies as required.
Supervises staff and volunteers.
Conducts in-service training in regard to recreation program procedures, equipment, policies and safety.
Develops and maintains relationships with community stakeholders, including public and private organizations and schools.
Actively promotes the Departments' programs and activities.
Serves as a key member of the department management team.
Supports Town policies and Philosophies.
Performs other related duties as assigned.
