Position Summary:

Under the direction of the Director of Human Resources, the Recruiting Manager is responsible for the overall coordination and administration of the firm's recruitment program. The individual will work with law school career services offices, review candidate qualifications, verify references, schedule and conduct screenings and follow-up interviews, and provide hiring recommendations.

Education / Experience:
  • 5+ years of previous legal recruitment experience required
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Experience with Microsoft Office and applicant tracking systems
  • Degree in HR, communications, business, or similarly related field preferred but not required


Primary Responsibilities:
  • Work with Director of Human Resources and managing partners in each office to identify hiring needs and required qualifications
  • Create and maintain job postings on firm website, LinkedIn, State Bar of Texas, law schools' career centers, etc.
  • Review and analyze all resumes/applications across multiple channels
  • Schedule and conduct initial screenings independently, further interview qualified candidates with hiring attorneys and/or the Director of Human Resources virtually and/or in-person
  • Coordinate reference checks with candidate and third-party consultant, administer skills assessment test when necessary
  • Maintain and store detailed interview notes
  • Update application statuses in ADP and LinkedIn
  • Stay in frequent contact with candidates, update with next steps, send rejection notices promptly
  • Confidently recommend candidates for hire to hiring attorneys and the Director of Human Resources with clear and concise reasoning
  • Develop "Careers" page on firm website and LinkedIn company page to attract top talent
  • Engage with NHSL recruiting committee
  • Research and implement new, creative ways to attract top talent
  • Liaise with law school career services and paralegal associations both online and in-person
  • Coordinate and represent the firm at community job fairs and law school events
  • Oversee and manage recruitment efforts for summer associate program, plan and host summer associate events
  • Develop and analyze reports and projections regarding market trends in diversity, legal recruiting, and retention
  • Serve as the point of contact for all job seekers and outside organizations involved in the legal recruiting process including legal search firms and recruitment associations Attend monthly local legal recruiting association meetings
  • Maintain and organize spreadsheets, databases, and other resources as required
  • Provide administrative support to the Director of Human Resources with day-to-day staffing operations within firm
  • Maintain confidential information while always utilizing discretion
  • Other duties as assigned


Travel to the other offices within the firm may be required from time to time with reimbursement provided at the federal rate.
