This position will be responsible for providing guidance to local management and acting as financial advisor as well as leading the transactional accounting for their assigned operating entities. Responsible for maintaining the financial records, keeping track of all tax filings, accumulating information for audits, and assisting with acquisition integrations and consolidation of service offerings.

POSITION OVERVIEW:
This position will be responsible for providing guidance to local management and acting as financial advisor as well as leading the transactional accounting for their assigned operating entities. Responsible for maintaining the financial records, keeping track of all tax filings, accumulating information for audits, and assisting with acquisition integrations and consolidation of service offerings.
ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES:
- Own and continuously improve the month-end closing process for the assigned companies including, booking entries, completing reconciliations, analyzing job profitability, and consolidating and reviewing financial results and internal management reporting
- Investigate and explain variances to last year and the Annual Operating Plan
- Provide guidance to local leadership and accounting personnel and create monthly/quarterly financial forecasts from their inputs
- Ad-hoc financial analysis, including monitoring KPI's
- Review monthly financial results with management
- Learn and pressure test backlog reporting and assure it is accurate
- Assist with payroll related issues and review procedures for potential improvements
- Become the go-to resource on the ComputerEase financial and operating software
- Lead projects impacting the accounting function for the east coast operations
- Implement and enforce internal controls (including financial controls) and guidelines to maximize protection of company assets, policies, procedures, and workflows.
- Assist with preparation of the Annual Operating Plan and weekly cash flow projections
- Assist with acquisition activity, including ERP, process integration, and financial reporting.
- Serve as business partner to the east-coast leadership teams.
- Assure that Sales and Use tax filings are made accurately and timely
Other:
- Complete special projects as required.
- Approximately 10% travel required
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
- Bachelor's Degree in accounting or related field. CPA a plus.
- A minimum of 5 years of progressive accounting experience, including management of staff and ownership of reporting.
- Prior experience as a part of a private equity company preferred
- Construction industry experience preferred
- Adaptable and flexible to change in response to new information, changing circumstances or ambiguous situations requiring planning and response creation.
- Knowledge of US GAAP and familiarity with researching new financial issues as they arise
- Excellent verbal, written and presentation skills; ability to gain consensus.
- Excellent interpersonal skills with demonstrated ability to effectively interact with employees and key internal/external stakeholders.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office applications including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Office 365, etc.
- Strong organizational skills and ability to prioritize multiple and competing priorities.
- Ability to meet deadlines and maintain effectiveness under deadlines.
WORKING CONDITIONS AND PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
- Works in an indoor office relatively free from environmental conditions or hazards.
- Use of office equipment and computers.
- Occasional lifting of supplies and materials from time to time.
- Positions in this class typically include extended sedentary periods, talking, hearing, seeing, grasping, movement and repetitive motions.
