Regional Business Controller

Job Purpose:
The Regional Business Controller - East is responsible for overseeing the financial operations, business performance and accounting of our business in the Central Region. The successful candidate will possess excellent analytical skills, extensive experience in Finance and Accounting and have the proven ability to communicate and collaborate with all levels of the organization. As the primary financial business partners for the region, the successful candidate will be focused on driving business performance improvement, implementing effective cost management while playing an active role in planning, forecasting and internal financial reporting.
Key Job Responsibilities:
Review month-end accruals prepared by the accounting team for accuracy
Provide explanations for monthly P&L performance to corporate team and operations
Ensure that monthly regional performance is reported accurately, including allocations
Support the FP&A team during the budgeting and forecasting process
Be actively involved in accurate data setup to ensure smooth data flow for financial reporting
Analyze store and market P&L's trends and identify areas of improvement
Drive process improvements for Accounting, Finance and the Central Region
Work with the regional team to develop strategies to improve ROIC performance and supports field team to build commercial acumen
Collaborate with operations to design and implement effective cost control processes, apply benchmarking across regions to drive best practices for cost efficiencies
Requirements:
Degree in Accounting or Finance, MBA, CPA or CMA preferred
10+ years of broad ranged finance and accounting experience with continuously increasing responsibility
Prior experience as a Financial Controller or Business Unit Controller in a distribution or manufacturing environment
Effective communicator with the ability to interact with all levels of the organization
Attention to detail, adaptable in dynamic environments
Experience with accounting systems, like Epicor, SAP, Oracle

Environmental/Occupational Health and Physical Requirements:
Typical 9-hour day to include reaching, standing, walking, kneeling, lifting and carrying. To perform the duties of this job the employee must be capable of working in a fast-paced environment. The heavy lifting of 50lbs or more may be required. Employee also share the responsibility to perform routine housekeeping activities such as dusting, sweeping, mopping, restroom cleaning and changing trash can liners.
