The ideal Regional Controller is well-organized and detail-oriented and can effectively work with a team on day-to-day financial operations while ensuring accuracy, compliance, and efficiency. Regional is a senior-level position within the finance department of our organization. Controllers are responsible for overseeing financial activities, ensuring compliance with accounting standards and regulations, and providing accurate and timely financial information to support strategic decision-making. Controllers play a critical role in maintaining the financial health and integrity of our organization. They are often involved in strategic decision-making processes and contribute to the overall success and sustainability of our business. Effective communication, leadership skills, and a deep understanding of financial principles are essential for success in this role.

Primary Responsibilities
  • Prepare and oversee the production of financial statements in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP).
  • Ensure the accuracy and completeness of financial reports.
  • Develop and manage the budgeting process, working closely with department heads to establish financial goals and forecasts.
  • Monitor actual financial performance against budgeted figures and provide analysis.
  • Establish and maintain internal control procedures to safeguard the organization's assets and ensure the accuracy of financial records.
  • Conduct periodic internal audits to assess compliance.
  • Analyze financial data and trends to provide insights into the organization's performance.
  • Make recommendations for improvement based on financial analysis.
  • Oversee cash flow management, including monitoring liquidity, managing investments, and optimizing working capital.
  • Ensure compliance with tax laws and regulations.
  • Coordinate with external tax advisors to prepare and file tax returns.
  • Contribute to the development of financial strategies and long-term financial plans.
  • Provide financial guidance to support strategic decision-making.
  • Identify and assess financial risks and implement strategies to mitigate them.
  • Stay informed about changes in accounting standards and regulations.
  • Manage and lead the finance team.
  • Provide mentorship, guidance, and training to finance staff.
  • Ensure compliance with financial regulations and legal requirements.
  • Collaborate with legal and compliance teams as needed.
  • Oversee the implementation and maintenance of financial systems and software.
  • Ensure the integration of financial systems with other business processes.
  • Other duties as assigned


Requirements

Skills/Knowledge
  • Strong time management skills, attention to detail, ability to prioritize, and sense of urgency for meeting deadlines.
  • Ability to self-direct and analyze data.
  • Experience with home improvement software such as Sage Intacct and Service Titan is preferred.
  • Experience using Paylocity is a plus.
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to take initiative, self-directed, results-oriented, and prioritize multiple assignments.
  • Must be able to prove U.S. citizenship or legal right to work in the United States.
  • Must be able to travel freely and without restrictions inside/outside the United States.

Physical Requirements
  • Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
  • Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at a time.
  • Willing and able to travel 25%
