To support the demands of our customers as we continue to significantly expand our operations across North America, we need a proven Data Center technology focused leader to be a part of our infrastructure management team.

We require a strong strategic and technical minded individual with a passion for devising innovative concepts and strategies that will take our Operations to the next level. We are looking for a leader who can collaborate, lead and mentor an organization of skilled Data Center Technicians and Engineering Operations Technicians and associated managers.

As a successful applicant, you will get to lead a part of the World's largest Cloud Computing Infrastructure.

You will have the ability to refine and develop processes to optimize operational excellence in every area of your role.

You will be able to drive performance levels to achieve the pace we build and operate our Data Centers. You will bring your operational expertise to drive operations in our Data Centers along with developing great relationships with both internal teams and external vendors.

Some high-level responsibilities include:
Managing and developing an organization of skilled managers and technicians, providing both tactical and strategic expertise and ensuring the highest levels of performance.
Constantly striving for improvement on all our processes and procedures. (We believe there is nothing we cannot improve).
Assisting & managing relationships with external vendors & contractors.
Liaising with internal teams & management groups.
Ensuring adherence by audits that we exceed local Health & Safety standards in all our Data Centers.
Never ceasing to drive performance through metric creation, improvement and adherence of all aspects of our operations and utilizing those metrics to drive positive improvements.
Collaborate with senior leadership, regional peers and stakeholders on strategically planning future growth for the coming 1 to 2 years.
Develop, mentor and train the leadership of the future, to ensure success at scale.
Challenge and improve on accepted documentation and practices to not only meet but exceed industry best practices..
Ability to manage a geographic region, remote from your direct manager.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

- Bachelor's degree in engineering, computer science, or a related field or equivalent experience.

- 4 years operating as a manager of managers.

- 10+ years managing data center operations, facility engineering operations, critical environment facilities, datacenter build-outs and scaling, or similar critical environment.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

Masters Degree in Business Administration, Engineering or related fields.

Expertise in one or more continuous improvement methodologies such as LEAN or Six Sigma.

Hardware install, troubleshooting and repair, security system install, troubleshooting and repair, and related Operations tasks.

Operation and maintenance of mechanical, electrical, and controls systems for Amazon Data Centers to include preventive maintenance, corrective maintenance, and change management.

Vendor management of colocation Data Center services providers to meet or exceed contracted performance SLA's.

Safety, security, and availability incident response, incident management, and incident resolution.

Continuous improvement of operational processes, procedures, methods, and tools.

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $119,400/year in our lowest geographic market up to $227,800/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company. Dependent on the position offered, equity, sign-on payments, and other forms of compensation may be provided as part of a total compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits.
