Description:
Our Support office located in Kitchener, Ontario has an exciting opportunity for a Regional Director for the Program for Active Living.
As the Regional Director of the Program for Active Living you will support and embrace our resident-centred social culture and be proud to deliver the highest quality of care to our residents. You will work as key members of our Support office and Village multidisciplinary teams to understand residents' needs, and advocate for residents to actively participate in decisions about their physical care.

Regional Director for the Program for Active Living job description:
Support the hiring & onboarding of new Program for Active Living (PAL) team members and support them in everyday village life.
Work with multidisciplinary team to support clinical programs, including but not limited to fall prevention, lifts & transfers, restraints/PASDs and education as related to the PAL program.
Lead the development, and evaluation of comprehensive operational policies and programs for the Village PAL program
Lead and promote PAL through partnerships with education partners - organizing and assisting in hiring of Coop students from multiple schools - career fairs and interviews
Be an ambassador and champion for the Program for Active Living in all internal and external interactions
Develop and review policies related to the PAL, falls prevention programs (LTC&RH), safe lifts and transfer programs.
To be successful as our new Regional Director of the PAL, you will:
Be a Registered Kinesiologist with the College of Kinesiologist of Ontario and a member in good standing.
Have a minimum of 5 years experience working in long term care and/or retirement setting working in leadership capacity.
Have an understanding of the Fixing the Long-term care Act (FLTCA) and Retirement Home Act (RHA)
A desire to support the development, and evaluation of The Program for Active Living; an innovative program with a goal to improve our residents lift quality and maximize independence.
It would be an asset if you have experience with developing operational policies and program review.
Experience supporting, implementing and leading a Fall Prevention program is an asset.
Experience supporting contracts, external stakeholders, service providers, co-ordination of services and supporting villages to ensure support from service providers
A passion for serving others, promoting quality of life through activity, exercise and independence through exercise programming and a more active lifestyle.
Ability to develop meaningful relationships with members of PAL team, Support Office and village teams.
