MTE is a world leader in power quality products and an experienced Regional Distribution Sales Manager is a critical function to ensure the effectiveness of the Distribution Sales Channel. The Regional Distribution Sales Manager is a steward of key distribution partner relationships throughout an assigned region. This position is responsible for the training, relationship status, corporate and site-level alignment, and sales results within their portfolio of Distribution Partners. This role facilitates a positive customer experience, improves MTE penetration of the distribution channel, and adds credibility to the MTE product offerings by being a positive sales management interface to internal and external customers. This person should work well independently and with other sales managers, possess a high-energy level and a competitive nature to increase sales for MTE in the distribution channel. They are responsible for managing the overall planning, organizing, and operations of key distributors in a given geography.

Overall objective is to meet or exceed annual sales quota and is responsible for full accountability for distributor performance. Candidates will be required to be a team player that puts the goals of the company ahead of personal objectives. This position can work remotely but must live in their respective sales territory and be located near a major airport. This position requires 50% travel as needed.

Essential Functions / Responsibilities:

Business Partnering
  • Will educate distribution partners on company mission, strategic direction and product launches through presentations, seminars, regular meetings and represents the company at trade shows.
  • Prepare Quarterly Business Reports for assigned Distribution Partners. Conduct internal & external coordination/input/attendance. Own action registers developed during business reviews and ensure visibility of/compliance to action items by all parties.
  • Ensure that MTE provides and distribution partners take advantage of required training and optional training as appropriate. Develop and propose training topics and content as deemed necessary.
  • Provides sales management for all existing and any new distribution sales partners. Participates in meetings at channel partners to identify and implement plans to increase overall sales.
  • Participates and contributes in regular meetings with MTE sales teams (RSM and Rep Firms) to identify and advance distribution sales opportunities.
  • Engage in speaking opportunities at technical events, tradeshows, and customer focused events, such as distributor sponsored seminars.
  • Supports various marketing activities including trade shows, strategic industry committees and marketing campaigns.
  • Assist Marketing in the technical aspects of developing any training, product brochures, technical literature, sales training tools required for MTE distribution partners.
  • Work with other departments within MTE to ensure all distributor requirements and issues are addressed.
  • Supports distributors in the field, and on-site, when necessary.
  • Supports various marketing activities including trade shows, strategic industry committees and marketing campaigns.
  • Help with visibility and management of lead generation with distributors.


  • Develops sales initiatives geared towards improving the sales effectiveness of the distributor sales & technical teams based on value selling. Coordinate with/facilitate/expedite marketing strategies and actions.
  • Seeks new distribution partners that would complement and improve the distribution channel.
  • Prepare monthly and quarterly reports covering sales results ($, units, product line) and reports that forecast expected future sales, including the required use of Salesforce.com for the National Distribution Sales Manager. Report on and coordinate with marketing for MDF usage. Assist distribution partners in effective utilization of funds. Measure and report on key performance indicators (KPIs)
  • Utilize software, data and analytics to optimize operations and track metrics
  • Represents Voice of the Customer (VOC) and communicates VOC within the organization.
  • Must monitor and evaluate the competition's product lines and suggest new products, service ideas, and suggest improvements to Product Marketing that will help their distributors expand their business.
  • Responsible to stay within allocated expense budget.


Salary Range of $90,000-$110,000

  • Bachelor's degree preferred, combination of education and experience will be considered.
  • Must live near a major airport in the territory assigned.
  • 5+ years of B2B sales experience to both end users and distribution/dealer partners
  • 5+ years growing a multi-state sales territory with both new and existing customers is required.
  • Experience utilizing virtual sales tools required, Salesforce preferred.
  • Demonstrated experience in developing and providing sales forecasts for a sales territory.
  • Demonstrated communication, presentation, and negotiation skills with C-suite.
  • Demonstrated results in meeting sales quotas.
  • Previous experience with motor and drive technologies, or knowledge of power quality markets, preferred.
