The Regional Head of Technology - Americas is the leader of all Information Technology for all businesses in the region. They will manage all aspects of technology including infrastructure, third party solutions, ERP applications, vendors, cyber security, support, and all operating systems.

The Regional Head of Technology is responsible for working with business leaders and defining a 1-3-5 year technology strategy for the region. They will translate the strategy into yearly roadmaps with business impact, and work with the central group capabilities and regional business stakeholders to execute on that roadmap. They are responsible for the regional technology budget and will consolidate and govern individual business unit budgets in the region. They will own and govern all technology support SLAs across all BUs in the region to ensure no business disruption. They will work with business teams to help retain & grow existing businesses, while supporting new business acquisition with technology showcase and solutioning. They will champion and own regionalized services and infrastructure. They will standardize technology infrastructure, software applications, contracts and support services in the region, thereby delivering efficiencies and cost savings. They will balance regional needs and the group technology strategy to deliver on effective outcomes, while maintaining excellent working relationships with peers and stakeholders.

The Regional Head of Technology is part of the executive leadership team in the region and will be an active voice that contributes to business growth.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES
  • Develop a regional specific Technology strategy aligned with regional business needs and with the standards set by Group Technology
  • Translate the technology strategy into a 1-3-5 year roadmap, backed by business cases. Execute on the roadmap in alignment with central group capabilities and regional business stakeholders.
  • Own and manage the regional technology budget
  • Deliver cost savings and efficiencies via consolidation of systems, infrastructure, contracts and people. Establish and strengthen regional shared services.
  • Help drive revenue growth by working with business teams to present showcases, solutions to potential customers. Support and implement customer launches with required IT solutions.
  • Own all support SLAs for systems in the region and ensure minimal disruption
  • Lead an engaged team, providing direction and promoting collaboration while ensuring they are enabled to carry out the goals and objectives of the business
  • Maintain high standards and bar in relation to cyber security, protection of customer data and operational assets
  • Directs and coordinates professional services such as systems analysis and design, feasibility studies, and provisioning of information, communication, office automation systems.
  • Research and implement forward looking technology solutions to meet current or anticipated BCO's and customer's needs, ensuring that those solutions keep up ahead of the competition.
  • Act as an ambassador for DP World at all times when working; promoting and demonstrating positive behaviours in harmony with DP World's Principles, values and culture; ensuring the highest level of safety is applied in all activities; understanding and following DP World's Code of Conduct and Ethics policies
  • Promote effective collaboration with their team and across partner teams.
  • Possess excellent written and verbal communication skills, be able to present strategy, progress and outcomes to senior executives
  • Perform other related duties as assigned


QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related Engineering discipline is a must; Masters is a plus
  • 20+ years of experience in Technology, with 10+ years in technology management roles and 5+ years in technology executive leadership
  • Industry experience in one or more of Ports & Terminals, Freight Forwarding, Contract Logistics, Warehousing, Freight Management is highly preferred
  • Demonstrated knowledge of budgeting, financial planning and business operations
  • Experience managing teams of 300+ technology staff
  • Possess good strategic thinking and Project Management skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Demonstratable organizational and Leadership skills, partnering with stakeholders to drive outcomes
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Good understanding of all aspects of technology including infrastructure, cyber security, ERP systems
