Nationwide Children's Hospital is seeking a Pediatric Hospitalist to join our experienced and energetic team of regional providers as an inpatient pediatric specialist at Fairfield Medical Center in Lancaster, Ohio. Hospitalists working at Fairfield Medical Center are employees of Nationwide Children's Hospital.
Fairfield Medical Center is an independent, not-for-profit healthcare system that employs more than 2,000 individual caregivers and provides full-service, general acute healthcare to residents in Fairfield, Pickaway, Perry, Hocking and Athens counties. Fairfield Medical Center's mission is to make a difference by delivering an extraordinary patient experience and personalized care from the heart. The hospital currently has four pediatric inpatient beds and a 23-bed Maternity Department. FMC is proud to be 4-Star First Steps for Healthy Babies facility through the Ohio Hospital Association and the Ohio Department of Health.
Responsibilities of the Pediatric Hospitalist include providing general pediatric consultations as well as inpatient pediatric/well baby care, Emergency Department consultations for admission or transfer and attending high-risk deliveries and c-sections. The Pediatric Hospitalist will work eight, 24 hour in-house shifts per month.
Qualified candidates must be board certified/ board eligible in Pediatrics, NRP and PALS certified, patient-centered and demonstrate a strong commitment to excellence in pediatric care. Certification in Pediatric Hospital Medicine is not required. The position offers a competitive salary, generous sign-on bonus, and excellent benefits package. Essential Functions:
- Conducts patient assessments and diagnoses medical conditions.
- Develops and implements treatment plans for patients in accordance with established protocols. Monitors patient progress and adjusts treatment plans as necessary.
- Orders and interprets diagnostic tests to aid in patient diagnosis and treatment.
- Communicates with patients and their families to provide education and support.
- Maintains accurate and up-to-date medical records for each patient and coordinates care with other healthcare professionals.
- Participates in the training and education of medical students, residents, and fellows as required.
- Stays up-to-date with medical advancements and research to provide the best possible care.
Education Requirement:
- Doctor of Medicine or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine equivalent, required.
