About the Position
The HR Regional Manager will support all ADM Canadian locations, maintaining a comprehensive Human Resource plan to execute all employee related functions, ensure a stable/motivated workforce and retain new/current employees in a competitive, manufacturing environment. This leader will strategically focus on ensuring all Canadian locations are aligned from a leadership & talent development, succession planning, Responsibilities include: employee/labor relations, performance management, employee development/training, recruiting, safety initiatives, and administration of policies, procedures, and programs. The HR Regional Manager will also improve and execute on the company's labor relations strategy by conducting labor negotiations and navigating all legal and arbitration related activities. You'll also work on implementing systems and processes crafted to identify and resolve issues before they reach critical mass, working to avoid or mitigate organizing attempts or threats of imminent harm to the company, and developing and implementing training for employees, field leaders and HR. This role can be based in Montreal, Windsor, or Mississauga.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Provide proactive consultation and direction to management in areas of employee/labor relations, performance management, training and development, and overall organizational effectiveness.
- Organize and participate in selection and hiring process. Interview and screen applicants, provide behavioral interview training, recruit prospective employees, and coordinate searches.
- Prepare position descriptions, track employment requisitions and Affirmative Action Forms, and direct all aspects of pre-employment screenings, and conduct new hire orientation.
- Increase understanding and consistent application of ADM policies, procedures, and practices through training, coaching, one-on-one communication and policy interpretation.
- Observe and promote adherence to policies, regulations and Global standards.
- Primary contact for employees and managers to answer inquiries and provide general employee information including: benefits, attendance, performance reviews/evaluations and terminations.
- Strategically implement performance management, feedback and development process.
- Approve and process Performance Appraisals, Performance Improvement Plans and Career Development Plans.
- Participate in conducting training needs assessments. Provide input on priorities and overall recommendations.
- Represent management in investigating, answering and settling grievances and employee complaints of moderate complexity.
- Represent management in the analysis of employee misconduct and recommend appropriate disciplinary action where appropriate.
- Travel to ADM Canadian locations 25-50% of the time.
- Other duties as required.
Job Requirements:
- Promotes the ADM Core Values and Code of Conduct
- Able to communicate with all levels of the organization
- BA/BS in Business, Human Resources or related field
- Current knowledge in the field of HR - current professional certification preferred
- 15-20 years experience in significant HR leadership role
- Ability to build and sustain relationships with leaders and colleagues at all levels of the organization
- Experience in addressing people issues and creating/maintaining positive employee relations.
- Experience in labor negotiations, contract administration, grievance processing and/or union-free campaigns
- High degree of business ethics and transparency
- Knowledge of EEO and anti-discrimination laws
- Related Industry and Canadian employment law knowledge
- Bilingual, fluency in English and Qubcois French (both verbal and written) is required.
- A spoken and written English is required for this position due to business transactions and communication with American and other Canadian partners
