ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Provides excellent guest service to both internal and external guests.
  • Actively supports the company culture of creating a fun and entertaining experience for internal and external guests.
  • Supervises, trains, counsels and evaluates all subordinates.
  • Trains all system users on purchasing software and procedures.
  • Coordinates with managers for New York State MWBE compliance on qualifying purchases and projects.
  • Coordinates and submits New York State Vendor applications for approval. Ensures that all vendors are tracked for easy reference for Management and Security based on Internal Controls.
  • Ensures compliance of all subordinates to both company and departmental policies and procedures.
  • Review all proposed and received orders to ensure vendor compliance and recommend vendor changes when necessary.
  • Ensure that all purchase requests have been approved in accordance with authorized approval levels.
  • Prepare and process purchase orders to comply with established purchasing procedures and maintain appropriate files.
  • Ensure that all purchase terms and discounts are adhered to.
  • Work with vendors to ensure the quality of goods purchased meets the Company's standards.
  • Coordinates and processes all Return-To-Vendor requests.
  • Processes all claims for damaged goods received.
  • Responsible for maintaining a consistent, regular attendance record.
  • All other duties as assigned.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Directly supervises the activities of all persons assigned to the Purchasing Department. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training associates, planning, assigning, and directing work, appraising performance, rewarding and disciplining Associates, addressing complaints and resolving problems.

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:

Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Business Administration or related area, or four to six years related experience and/or training, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

SPECIAL QUALIFICATIONS:

Minimum of three years in company purchasing or related area. Must possess excellent communication, organizational, and analytical skills. Must be extremely numbers-oriented and computer-literate. Must have ability to learn purchasing software system or have previous experience with MMS/Infor.

The associate is regularly exposed to risk of radiation (from computers), as a great deal of the workday is spent working on spreadsheets or inputting data into the computer system.
