Under Brightstar's ownership, Novae has already grown significantly in size and is poised to continue to grow.

Job Summary: Provide regulatory oversight and best practice guidance to drive our safety culture through employee engagement and participation. Collaborate with employees at all levels of the organization to continuously improve processes and safety program compliance across assigned Region(s). Align with Operations and Human Resources teams to bring stability and continuity among all facilities.

Essential Functions
  • Shared administration of the local Safety Committee(s) through coordination of meetings, teaching safety culture, keeping agendas and minutes for meetings, and monitoring action items to support continuous improvement initiatives for safety to stay on track.
  • Ensure safety compliance through subject matter expert knowledge with federal, state, and local regulations by:
    • training our workforce on programs and requirements, collaborating with training team on content and delivery, when necessary,
    • auditing all safety and emergency response written plans, making updates when necessary
    • administration of hearing conservation programs,
    • administration of respirator programs,
    • reviewing the environmental compliance and safety of processes, equipment, and facilities, making recommendations where needed, and
    • conducting mock audits for learning opportunities.
  • Lead injury investigation process to bring root cause analysis for safety incidents and near misses. Teach best practices, refine, and ensure consistency across all facilities.
  • Administration of the Corrective Action / Preventative Action audit process - refine and implement across all facilities.
  • Manage First Responder program - work through Operations and Human Resources for recruitment of First Responders, decisions on training content relevant to locations, coordination of delivery of training, ensure drills are completed, and ensuring compliance of First Aid / AED certifications.
  • Manage the response to all OSHA complaints and the internal resolution process for assigned Region(s). Serve as the interface for resolving complaints and any possible resulting findings. Collaborate with Safety Team to share resolutions and learning across Novae LLC.
  • Manage the job safety analysis process to ensure a formalized analysis of all jobs, determine associated risks, and develop with Operations the corrective actions that need to be put in place in place; training, upkeep, and tracking of this process is a collaborative effort of the Human Resources, Safety, Training, and Operations teams.
  • Maintain a Safety Library by surveying and keeping current on all relevant topics to ensure ongoing preparedness on safety improvement and hazard prevention issues.
  • Monitor and implement counter measures to industrial hygiene concerns related to long-term effect factors such as chemical exposure, noise, lighting, heat, humidity, and other variables.

Qualifications and Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Occupational Safety Management, Industrial Hygiene, or related field, or the equivalent demonstrated skills and abilities.
  • Minimum three years of experience in a similar role in a manufacturing environment is preferred.
  • Experience in training groups of people from different areas of the organization on safety topics to ensure learning.
  • Must be able to travel to all locations in assigned Region(s); this is likely to be about 25% of the time.
  • Subject Matter Expert level knowledge of federal, state and local regulations; OSHA 30 Hour or equivalent preferred.
  • Experience with reporting adherence to OSHA safety standards and preferred corrective action execution.
  • Ability to write and update safety procedures professionally and effectively.
  • Knowledge of First Aid, confined space entry, LOTO, and process safety management.
  • Ability to speak and understand Spanish a plus.
