Job Title: Registered Nurse - Emergency Room
Job Specialty: Emergency Department
Job Duration: 26 weeks
Shift: Night Shift (7 PM - 7 AM)
Guaranteed Hours: 48 hours per week
Experience: Minimum 1-year experience in a Level 2 Trauma Center (Strong Level 3 experience considered with permission)
License: Current RN license
Certifications:
- Basic Life Support (BLS)
- Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS)
- National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale (NIHSS)
- Trauma Nursing Core Course (TNCC)
- Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS)
- Management of Aggressive Behavior (MOAB) or Crisis Prevention Institute (CPI) (strongly preferred)
Must-Have:
- Trauma experience is essential
- Skills in ventilator management
- Proficiency in critical care drips/titration
- Cardiac rhythm interpretation
- Measuring cardiac strips, drains, chest tubes, hemodynamic lines (Art lines/CVP)
- Stroke experience, including TNK administration
- Conscious sedation
- Assistance with splinting
- Preferred skills in ultrasound-guided IVs
Job Description:
- Work in a Level II Trauma Center with a fast-paced environment
- Provide care for all age groups from neonate to geriatric patients
- Cover multiple specialties including Medical, Cardiac, Neuro, Ortho, and Trauma
- Handle common diagnoses such as DKA, Sepsis, Multisystem trauma, Respiratory Failure, Renal Failure, COVID, ETOH, IVDA, Mental Health (Adult and Peds) conditions
- Work with stroke and cardiac event patients, including STEMI, NSTEMI, and heart failure
- Maintain patient ratios: Main ED 1:4, ED Holding Medical/Surgical 1:5, ICU 1:1-2, Psych 1:6
- Collaborate with a team including a secretary, paramedics, psych techs, CNA, and phlebotomy staff
- No inpatient floating required, will float between Triage, Psych, Trauma, and Holding
- Utilize Cerner for charting and Alaris and Pyxis GE monitors for equipment
Orientation: 3 days, including NEOS
Scheduling:
- Potential weekend rotations
- Up to 7 days off on approval, willingness to extend contract if taking a full week
- No on-call requirement
- Holiday expectations vary based on unit needs

- Scrub color is flexible, as long as it is professional.
