Job Title: Registered Nurse
Job Specialty: Transplant - Liver Transplant Program
Job Duration: 13 weeks
Shift: Day, 5x8-Hour (08:00 - 16:30)
Guaranteed Hours: Not specified
Experience: Minimum 3-5 years acute-care hospital nursing
License: Valid State License
Certifications: BLS
Must-Have:
- Epic experience
- Ability to triage and prioritize patient issues using critical thinking skills
Job Description:
- Work as a member of an inter-disciplinary team integral to clinical transplant services.
- Act as a liaison between patients and staff members of the transplant team (physicians, social workers, financial counselors, psychiatrists, etc.).
- Provide direct and indirect professional nursing care for patients.
- Screen and educate potential recipients and direct the evaluation process.
- Facilitate committee reviews and direct additional testing and update testing.
- Manage the patient waiting list.
- Provide initial and ongoing patient/family education in various settings.
- Collect and evaluate patient laboratory testing, diagnostic procedures, consults, and regulatory requirements.
- Provide post-transplant cross coverage for essential functions.
- Assess patient and family needs, develop a plan of care, implement, and evaluate the care delivered.
- Work closely with all members of the inter-disciplinary team.
- Practice in accordance with professional standards, core values, and with a commitment to service excellence.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Adult care nursing experience
- Transplant nursing experience (inpatient or outpatient setting)
- Certified Clinical Transplant Coordinator
Additional Notes:
- Candidates will float within the hospital or to affiliate hospitals nearby.
- Modules are completed pre-start and connected with transcripts.
