- Hourly Pay Range: $39.78 - $67.72The hourly pay rate offered is determined by a candidate's expertise and years of experience, among other factors.
- Location: Arlington Heights, IL
- Full time/Part time: Full Time, 40 hours per week
- Hours: 6:30am - 5:00pm. No weekends / will be 4 shifts between Monday -Friday
- Required Travel: No
What you will do:
- As the RN Clinical Unit Coordinator you will assume a critical role in the coordination and management of clinical operations within your designated unit. You will lead a team of nursing staff, ensuring efficient patient care delivery, adherence to protocols, and the highest standards of patient safety and satisfaction. This position requires strong leadership skills, clinical expertise, and a commitment to excellence in healthcare.
- Provide clinical guidance and leadership to nursing staff within the unit. Ensure compliance with established clinical protocols, safety standards, and the delivery of high-quality care.
- Supervise, mentor, and support nursing staff. Manage staff schedules, assignments, and performance evaluations. Foster a collaborative and positive work environment.
- Oversee the delivery of patient-centered care within the unit. Collaborate with healthcare providers to develop and implement care plans, address patient inquiries, and resolve concerns promptly. Acts as a liaison to nursing and ancillary departments (IMC, OR, ER, CCU, EVS, Transport, Facilities and Clinical Engineering, etc.)
- Lead quality improvement initiatives within the unit. Participate in audits and compliance efforts, identify areas for enhancement, and implement corrective actions to improve patient outcomes.
- Efficiently manage unit resources, including staffing, supplies, equipment, and budget allocation. Monitor and control expenses while maintaining high care standards.
- Ensure strict adherence to all state and federal regulations, as well as hospital policies and procedures, within the unit. Maintain a safe, sanitary, and compliant care environment.
- Assist with Joint Commission readiness, using department tracers for the Interventional departments.
- Works collaboratively with the clinical educator to facilitate ongoing education and training for unit nursing staff to enhance their clinical skills and knowledge. Stay updated on the latest developments in healthcare and clinical practices. Works with staff to assign preceptors for new staff within the departments, using the orientation pathway to ensure the new employee moves efficiently through orientation.
- Ensure staff competencies and annual educational requirements are met including: POC liaison, Responsible for POCT competency assessments/ annual requirements for staff.
- Oversees glucometer log/ACT log, QC log, temperature and humidity logs are complete.
- Oversee the accurate and comprehensive documentation of patient assessments, and interventions within the EPIC EMR system.
- Collaborate with other departments, including physicians, care coordination teams, and ancillary services, to coordinate patient care and enhance the patient experience.
- Provides safe, respectful care to the patients following our Mission and Vision statement as a reference for expectations.
- This position will be responsible for staff pay, including correcting clock-in's/out's in API.
- This position will also be involved with annual performance reviews, providing feedback on the staff reporting up to this position.
What you will need:
- Bachelors Degree Nursing Required Or
- Masters Degree Nursing or Masters Degree Health Administration Preferred
- 3 Years of clinical nursing experience, with at least 2 years in a supervisory or leadership role.
- Registered Nurse (RN) - Illinois Department of Financial and Professional Regulation (IDFPR) Current Registered Nurse (RN) licensure in the state of Illinois. Required And
- Basic Life Support (BLS) - American Heart Association (AHA) BLS Required And
- Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) - American Heart Association (AHA) ACLS certification Required
