Job Description

This position is contingent on contract award.

This position will support the US Department of Veterans Affairs Critical Staffing Program. The person in this position will represent International SOS and provide services outlined below:

International SOS is looking for an individual who is an experienced Registered Nurse to deliver comprehensive nursing services to veterans, focusing on health assessments, care planning, and education to promote overall wellness. This role includes coordinating with healthcare providers and community resources to ensure access to quality care and support for individuals in the community.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide direct and indirect nursing care, by contributing to the patient's assessment, determining priorities, identifying nursing measures and therapeutic objectives and evaluating outcomes.
  • Apply independent judgment and nursing actions, flexibility, organizational skills, and the ability to utilize an interdisciplinary approach in the provision of nursing care.
  • Clinically review consults and requests for completeness and appropriateness for utilization review.
  • Disposition care in the community per utilization review and guidelines.
  • Provide clinical review for incoming medical records and document communication with ordering providers.
  • Correspond with veteran, community providers, internal providers, nurses, and administrative staff to ensure the care and authorization for care requested is processed.

Qualifications

Basic Requirements/Certifications:
  • A registered nurse (RN) will have a current, full, active and unrestricted license in a State, Territory, or Commonwealth (i.e. Puerto Rico) of the U.S. or in the District of Columbia.
  • Must possess at least two years of direct patient care experience within the past three years.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.

Education Required:
  • Graduation from a school of professional nursing approved by the appropriate state-accrediting agency and accredited by one of the following accrediting bodies at the time the program was completed: The accreditation Commission for Education in Nursing (ACEN) or the commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE).

Physical Requirements:
  • Work is normally performed in a typical interior/office work environment.
  • Work involves sitting and standing for prolonged periods of time.
  • May require bending, stooping and lifting up to 15 lbs.

Other Special Qualifications:
  • Must be able to read, write, and speak English to effectively communicate.
  • US Citizen or Permanent Resident Card is required.
  • Pass/possess VA Public Trust Clearance.

Additional Information

Pay range is based on several factors and may vary in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits. Final salary and offer will be determined by the applicant's background, experience, skills, internal equity, and alignment with geographical market data.

Compensation/ Min: $33hr Max: $56hr
