Job Description
Job Title: Registered Nurse
Job Specialty: Pain Management
Job Duration: 13 weeks
Shift: Day 4x10-Hour (07:00 - 17:30) on Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday
Guaranteed Hours: 40 per week
Experience: 2+ years, must be proficient in placing IVs, experience with moderate sedation, and exposure to radiation required
License: Pending license accepted (application must be submitted and received by licensing board to qualify for the 90-day license exemption)
Certifications: BLS, ACLS required
Must-Have: Epic experience required, first-timers accepted, accepts local candidates
Job Description:
- Responsible for patient intake, IV placement, and sedation administration during procedures as ordered by a physician
- Recovery and discharge of patients post-procedure
- Most procedures utilize X-ray; the RN will wear a lead vest and have a risk of radiation exposure
- Procedures commonly performed include epidural steroid injections, medial branch blocks, radiofrequency denervations, and joint and spinal region injections
- Utilize equipment including ultrasound machines, cryoablation machines, and radiofrequency machines
- Work with patients suffering from various pain-related diagnoses such as back pain, neck pain, neuropathic pain, headaches/migraines, cancer-related pain, and more
- No weekend or on-call requirements
- Blocks schedule and travel from affiliate hospitals if necessary
- Training modules are completed pre-start
- Facility type: Short-Term Acute Care, Magnet, Teaching, Level I Trauma Center
