Join our Progressive Care Unit (PCU) and be part of a dynamic team dedicated to providing exceptional care to patients recovering from surgery, managing chronic illnesses, or stabilizing post-acute conditions. Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement personalized care plans, assessing patient needs and monitoring their progress.
- Administer medications and treatments as prescribed by physicians.
- Continuously monitor patient vital signs, equipment, and overall condition, reporting any changes or concerns to the healthcare team.
- Respond swiftly and effectively to medical emergencies, implementing appropriate interventions and stabilizing patients.
- Educate patients and their families about their condition, treatment plan, and discharge instructions.
- Collaborate with other healthcare professionals, including physicians, nurses, and therapists, to ensure optimal patient care.
Essential Skills:
- Minimum Associate's Degree or Diploma in Nursing.
- Valid NM Nursing license or NM compact license (within 90 days of hire) and BLS certification.
- Minimum 2 years of experience as a registered nurse.
- Experience in patient care, ambulatory care, and medical procedures.
- Ability to educate patients and their families.
Additional Skills & Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree in Nursing preferred.
- ACLS and/or PALS certification may be required by the hiring department.
- Experience with electronic health records and patient education.
- New graduates with strong references and good interview skills may be considered.
Work Environment:
- Night shift position, working 3-12 hour shifts per week. Shifts start between 5pm-8pm and end between 5am-8am.
- One weekend day shift required every six shifts, with the option to choose Saturday or Sunday.
- Supportive team environment with flexible scheduling.
- Additional benefits include relocation assistance, potential sign-on bonus, and shift differentials for evening, night, and weekend hours.
- Located in downtown, offering opportunities for advancement to roles such as Charge Nurse.
- Pay is negotiableand this is adirect hire role, not a contract position.
