CNO Financial Group's IT Team is hiring a Release Train Engineer to serve as a recognized servant leader and subject matter expert of Agile methodologies and Program Management across the CNO enterprise. This role will be primarily responsible and accountable for leading a highly complex Agile Release Train (ART), which is a Team of Agile Teams working towards a common business objective. This role will be responsible for planning the work of teams, as well as uncovering and resolving cross-functional team dependency issues.

Pay Range: $140,600.00 - $211,000.00 Annual

As a Release Train Engineer, your responsibilities will include:
- Overseeing, managing, and optimizing the flow of value through a highly complex ART using various tools, such as the Program and Solution Kanbans and other information radiators.
- Providing significant input into the overall objectives that the ART is expected to deliver on and successfully executing on the delivery.
- Coaching leaders, teams, and Scrum Masters in several Lean-Agile practices, principles, and methodologies.
- Establishing, tracking, and reporting on metrics for the ART, planning the work of teams, and establishing the annual calendars for Iterations and Program Increments (PIs), which are fixed development timelines of approximately 10 weeks.
- Facilitating PI Planning readiness by fostering Continuous Exploration, synthesizing Vision, Roadmap, and Backlogs, and conducting Pre- and Post-PI Planning meetings.
- Driving and leading economic decision-making by facilitating feature and capability estimation by teams and the roll-up to Epics, where necessary.
- Mitigating issues, risks, and dependencies at multiple levels.
- Serving as an escalation resource for ART impediments and providing significant input on resourcing to address critical bottlenecks.
- Collaborating with other major IT subfunctions (i.e Application Development, IT Strategy, and Operations) as well as Product Management, Product Owners, and other stakeholders to help ensure strategy and execution alignment.
The Release Train Engineer position is well-suited for you if you:
- Have expert knowledge and mastery of multiple Agile frameworks, principles, and methodologies, including but not limited to Scrum, Kanban, XP, etc).
- Have expert knowledge of Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe).
- Possess strong interpersonal skills in areas such as teamwork and facilitation, with the ability to influence senior leaders across the organization and build consensus
- Are able to lead projects with large resource requirements, risk, and complexity.
- Have a comprehensive understanding of several business functions across the enterprise and anticipate internal and external business challenges.
What you'll need:
- Bachelor's degree in IT or a related field of study
- Scrum Master Certification (CSM, PSM, ACP) and other Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe) certifications (SAFe PO/PM, SAFe Advanced Scrum Master, SAFe Program Consultant (SPC)) are required
- 10 years of experience leading/coaching/mentoring in Agile principles and frameworks.
- Proven experience leading Scrum/Agile teams.
- Candidate location in Central or Eastern US time zone is required
