The Release Train Engineer (RTE) ensures that teams develop and deliver quality solutions that provide value and contribute to the continued improvements in team productivity and success of the program. This includes making sure teams follow a standard process for ingesting, developing, testing, documenting, and deploying capabilities and enhancements. The successful candidate has a solid understanding of Agile scrum and SAFe methodologies to coach and ensure the Agile teams in delivering value and following the same methodology for planning, tracking, and reporting Sprint and Release results.
Responsibilities
Manage and optimize the flow of value through the release.
Ensure the end-to-end enhancements life cycle is followed across the team
Identifying, analyzing, and recommending potential improvements to the end-to-end process after release and product delivery
Working closely with the Release Manager to maintain calendars for program increments and release events
Supporting Scrum Masters with accurately estimating development and testing efforts for the release
Working with team members within and across the scrum teams to make improvements
Collaborating with internal and external stakeholders to create value and promote quality product deliveries
Conducting technical meetings to develop improvements that prevent technical inconsistencies, defects, and errors
Documenting and analyzing test results, produce status reports, and assist with the defect management process
Driving and implementing automation process improvements
Identifying efficiencies and helping maintain the end-to-end process productive by ensuring the use of agile processes
Encouraging collaboration between scrum teams to improve the flow of value through value streams
Responsible for leading the Scrum of Scrums sessions and supporting Scrum Masters with their scrum ceremonies to include retrospectives
Mandatory Qualifications
Certified in an Agile framework such as SAFe Agile
Working experience in defining acceptance criteria and coordinating and executing acceptance testing
Working experience with DevOps and Continuous delivery pipeline
Hands-on experience with process, and business and systems analysis to develop analysis of alternatives, process improvement documents, design documentation, and creating the associated presentations to brief results
Experience working with multiple teams and coordinating various integration projects
Demonstrated initiative and ability to start, develop, and complete short and long-term projects
Demonstrates accuracy and thoroughness in the implementation of project specifications and design requirements
Experience with PI Planning and scrum ceremonies
Experience with Agile testing, establishing IT testing frameworks, that include automation best practices
Desired Qualifications (Nice to have)
2 or more years' experience with ServiceNow
ITIL v4 Foundations
Experience performing Agile development with Waterfall deliveries

Pay Range: There are a host of factors that can influence final salary including, but not limited to, geographic location, Federal Government contract labor categories and contract wage rates, relevant prior work experience, specific skills and competencies, education, and certifications. $94,400 - $198,300
