Introduction

We are seeking a Reliability Engineer to join our team. You will be responsible to enhance the performance, safety, and efficiency of our equipment and systems. The Reliability Engineer will focus on improving product reliability, identifying risk in design and delivery of equipment, and implementing solutions to mitigate risk and warranty. This role involves collaborating with cross-functional teams, analyzing data, and applying engineering best practices to ensure optimal equipment quality and lifecycle management.In this position, you will report to Director, Reliability Engineering and Product Quality.

This position is mainly located in York, PA, but we are happy to offer flexible working arrangements, including hybrid options. This position will include 25% travel both domestic and internationally.

What you'll do

  • Risk Assessment & Mitigation: Conduct reliability assessments, Failure Modes and Effects Analysis (FMEA), and Fault Tree Analysis (FTA) to identify and mitigate potential risks.
  • Reliability Engineering Support: Develop and implement reliability improvement plans to reduce operational and safety risks.
  • Project Deliverables: Ensure all risk management documentation, reports, and technical analyses are completed on time and align with Metso requirements.
  • Compliance & Standards: Ensure adherence to contractual requirements, industry regulations and company policies.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with safety, quality, engineering, and other operational teams to develop and implement risk mitigation strategies.
  • Failure Investigations: Lead root cause analysis (RCA) investigations to determine failure causes and develop corrective actions.
  • Continuous Improvement: Identify areas for reliability enhancement and drive continuous improvement initiatives within the organization.


Who you are

Education and Experience
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial, or related field).
  • 5+ years of experience in quality reliability engineering, risk management, or asset integrity roles.
  • Strong knowledge of reliability methodologies (FMEA, FTA, Weibull analysis, RCM, etc.).
  • Experience with reliability software tools (ReliaSoft, RAM analysis, etc.) and statistical analysis techniques.
  • Familiarity with industry standards and best practices.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to communicate technical findings to stakeholders.
  • Strong project management skills with experience delivering risk management initiatives and project handovers.


Knowledge, Skills, Abilities
  • Familiarity with metallurgical properties of materials and their weldability.
  • Proficiency in interpreting technical drawings, blueprints, and welding symbols.
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Strong communication skills for collaboration with teams and training personnel.
  • Attention to detail to ensure compliance with quality and safety standards.
