JOB SUMMARY
We are seeking a Reliability Engineering Manager to lead the efforts in improving asset and process reliability across our terminal operations. This role will support continuous improvement initiatives, utilizing data analysis, and problem-solving to optimize operational performance. The ideal candidate will drive strategic changes, implement best practices, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure system reliability and operational efficiency.
NATURE AND SCOPE
Due to the nature of our business, work shifts may fluctuate dependent upon vessel arrival schedules and operational requirements. Must be available to work weekends, day and night shift and long hours (up to 12 hours per shift), and adapt to changes in work schedules as needed. Work schedule may include "flip" in shifts (day and night shift within the same day or week).

- Collect, analyze, and present data in an accessible format to all levels of the organization, ensuring stakeholders can make informed, data-driven decisions.
- Design and maintain dashboards that help departments track performance and identify areas for improvement, eliminating obsolete metrics.
- Collaborate with M&R Asset Managers and union labor teams to recommend and execute solutions aimed at improving asset reliability, eliminating waste, and enhancing operational quality.
- Monitor and report trends related to ongoing projects, providing clear insights and actionable recommendations.
- Define, document, and deliver key metrics, processes, procedures, and goals in collaboration with relevant stakeholders, ensuring alignment with terminal objectives.
- Lead efforts to develop business cases, RFPs, and conduct post-implementation reviews, ensuring continuous learning and process refinement.
- Drive Root Cause Analysis (RCA) initiatives to resolve issues and prevent system failures, inefficiencies, and disruptions.
- Oversee server maintenance, ensuring data integrity and availability across Asset Management systems.
- Provide support for the scheduling of Preventive Maintenance (PM) and Corrective Maintenance (CM) activities, ensuring proper coordination with asset managers.

- Lead meetings and presentations to communicate findings, insights, and recommendations to various teams.
- Act as a liaison between business users and external vendors, ensuring seamless integration of data systems like OSISoft and other historical data platforms.
- Perform system analysis, define KPIs, and track performance indicators for continuous improvement projects.
- Create and maintain dashboards and visualizations in tools such as PI Process Book, PI Vision, Tableau, or Power BI to provide clear operational insights.
- Identify gaps in data, recommend new data collection methods, and ensure all relevant information is captured to support reliability efforts.
- Troubleshoot and resolve data or system issues, collaborating with internal teams and external vendors to ensure optimal system performance.
- Manage the end-to-end issue resolution process, from identification to resolution, ensuring corrective actions are executed and progress is tracked.
- Develop and maintain Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) to ensure consistent and efficient problem resolution in the future.
JOB QUALIFICATIONS
Education
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a related field.
Experience
- Minimum of 4 years of relevant experience in reliability engineering, with at least 2 years in a managerial role.
Skills and Expertise
- Strong ability to analyze and present both quantitative and qualitative data.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint), with advanced skills in PowerPoint for impactful presentations.
- Experience with programming languages (Python, C#, C++) and SQL databases is preferred.
- Familiarity with data optimization techniques and linear programming is a preferred.
- Background in Lean Six Sigma or continuous improvement methodologies is advantageous.
- Knowledge of the container shipping or terminal industry is a preferred.
- Proficiency in dashboard creation and visualization tools (e.g., PI Vision, Tableau, Power BI).
- Understanding of system monitoring tools and techniques to assess operational performance.
- Strong problem-solving skills, with a focus on root cause identification and corrective actions.
- Experience managing cross-functional teams and leading improvement initiatives.
- Excellent documentation skills with the ability to create clear, concise, and comprehensive technical documentation and SOPs.
- Basic understanding of financial accounting concepts.
