CoastView Veterinary Hospital is seeking an experienced Relief Veterinarian to cover the following dates at our practice in San Diego, CA:
We are a well-established small animal hospital providing comprehensive medical, surgical, and preventative care. Our progressive and fear-free facility has modern equipment and a skilled support team dedicated to practicing high-quality, compassionate veterinary medicine.
The ideal candidate will have confidence handling a wide range of cases, excellent client communication skills, and the ability to hit the ground running in our fast-paced environment. Experience in general practice is required, with certification in Fear Free practice being a plus.

Duties and Responsibilities:
- Conducting comprehensive physical examinations on dogs and cats
- Diagnosing and treating a variety of medical conditions and diseases
- Performing routine vaccinations and preventative care
- Providing advice to clients on pet nutrition, behavior, and general care
- Ordering and interpreting diagnostic tests like bloodwork, urinalysis, x-rays, etc.
- Dentistry procedures such as cleanings, extractions, etc.
- Administering anesthesia and monitoring patients during procedures
- Prescribing medications and treatment plans
- Handling emergency cases that present to the clinic
- Maintaining clear and detailed medical records
- Consulting with staff veterinarians and providing handoff reports
- Educating clients on their pet's conditions and instructions for at-home care
Qualifications and Skills:
- Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) degree from an accredited veterinary school
- Valid state veterinary license
- Must have proof of Professional Liability Insurance Trust (PLIT)
- Strong knowledge of veterinary medicine
- Have professional mannerism and show sensitivity with patients, clients, and staff
- Have excellent verbal and written communication skills to convey information effectively to owners and staff

- Monday - Saturday from 8:00 am - 6:00 pm
- Closed Sundays
