Posting Summary

Rutgers, the State University of New Jersey, is seeking a Research Associate I for the Pharmacology department within New Jersey Medical School.

Under the direction of the PI, conducts specialized research investigating 1) the control and regulation of microvascular permeability in vivo and in vitro 2) hyperpermeability inactivation in the restoration of endothelial barrier properties in vivo and in vitro.

Among the key duties of the position are the following:
  • Performs various research and technical operations relative to ongoing investigatory activities of a laboratory; may conduct independently or as assigned specialized research for microvascular/endothelial projects.
  • Plans and executes experiments independently - particularly, in vivo experiments to study microvascular permeability in vivo in rodents.
  • Evaluates existing procedures and proposes modifications or changes in order to keep the methodology and procedures current.
  • Records and analyzes data from experiments.
  • Keeps detailed records of procedures and experiments. Compile data and presents results.
  • Assists with the instructing and training of students, fellows, technicians and laboratory assistants as required.
