Position Qualification
Position Summary
The College of Allied Health Professions (CAHP) in partnership with The Fred and Pamela Buffett Cancer Center and various departments at the University of Nebraska Medical Center, is expanding its focus on population sciences and cancer prevention and control. The CAHP is seeking faculty experts in metabolic health, physical activity, and nutrition research. Ideal candidates will have expertise in areas such as behavioral health, dissemination and implementation, health disparities, wearable digital technology, genetics and epigenetics, chronic inflammation and immunoregulation, cancer therapy, or cancer metabolism.
This role is part of a broader initiative to develop a dynamic team science program aimed at behavioral interventions to prevent cancer and improve outcomes for cancer survivors. Candidates should be eager to lead and collaborate on innovative research teams, and have a proven track record of extramural funding, impactful peer-reviewed publications, and experience in team science. Additionally, they should have a strong interest in applying their expertise to enhance outcomes for cancer survivors. Successful applicants must qualify for appointment at the Associate Professor or Professor level and possess excellent communication skills.
Required Qualifications
An academic doctorate.
A history of extramural funding.
Evidence of participation in collaborative or team science.
A research focus on metabolic health, obesity, nutrition, or physical activity related to cancer.
Supplemental Qualifications
A history of NCI R01 funding or equivalent.
Clinician Scientist with healthcare professional training.
Experience in the strategic development of research teams.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
