Research Scientist - Natural Language Processing

BACKGROUND:

IAI is looking for talented research scientists to contribute and lead research and development efforts in natural language processing, text analysis, and graph analysis. The candidate will incorporate novel ideas and improve the state of the art on text-related projects. Additionally, the candidate will develop a portfolio of related research by extending existing work and developing new business. Beyond fundamental and applied research, the candidate will work with technical and project management teams to develop the transition of the most promising technology into products.

JOB DUTIES:
Develop new ideas and write proposals in the above-mentioned research areas
Develop methods for entity extraction and entity
relationships in text documents
Develop methods for topic modeling and document
categorization
Develop methods for feature extraction
Evaluate the performance
of a variety of text algorithms
Explore the use
of novel methods for information retrieval on large corpora
Formulate research ideas to solve new problems
and transform into business development opportunities
Communicate findings effectively in the form of
briefings and technical reports

DESIRED SKILLS:
Algorithm development experience in Python and/or Java
Experience with text mining/analysis tools
(e.g., GATE, JET, MALLET, StanfordNLP, nltk,
Lucene, Solr, ElasticSearch)
Development of machine learning and/or graph-based algorithms applied to text corpora
(e.g., scikitlearn, networkx, mlpack,
weka)
Familiar with word embedding methods (e.g., word2vec,
GloVe, doc2vec)
Familiar with web frameworks (e.g., Pyramid,
Flask, Spring Boot, Express, Django, etc.)
Good publication record and proposal writing
experience

EDUCATION:

A Masters degree (or higher) in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics,
Physics or related field is required.
