Position Summary

This is an advanced professional position responsible for evaluating, developing, and recommending program policy and procedure in the areas of premium taxes, statutory accounting, reserving, and effectively implementing revisions to such procedures as directed by division management. This position requires having advanced knowledge of life, health, property and casualty statutory accounting. The position trains and mentors' staff on premium tax calculations and collection, statutory accounting principles applicable to the insurance industry, reserving methods utilized by insurers for compliance with laws and regulations; and standards established by the State of Wisconsin and the National Association of Insurance Commissioners (NAIC). This position requires a high level of expertise in taxes, accounting, and reserving methodologies applicable to the insurance industry.

Salary Information

Starting salary for the Insurance Financial Examiner- Principle/ Reserve Specialist will be between $45.00 - $51.85 per hour, plus great benefits. In addition, up to a $1.00 per hour CPA, $3.00 per hour AFE, and $5.00 per hour CFE add-on is available for this classification. This classification is assigned to pay schedule/range 07-02. A 12-month probationary period may be required.

Job Details

Due to the nature of the position, OCI will conduct background checks on applicants prior to selection. OCI does not sponsor visas and is not an eligible OPT employer for those with F1 visas. In compliance with federal law, all persons hired will be required to verify identity and eligibility to work in the United States, and to complete the required employment eligibility form upon hire.

This position has potential for a combination of telecommuting and in-person work after an initial training period has been completed. Some travel may be necessary, including out of state travel.

Qualifications

Minimally Qualified candidates will meet the following:
  • Certified Financial Examiner through the Society of Financial Examiners
  • Experience in acting as a lead worker
