Status: Exempt

Mission Contribution:

Protects Memphis Goodwill, Inc. (MGI), Memphis Goodwill Industries (MGII), and Goodwill Excel (GEC) assets and interests, thereby lowering expenses to further the mission.

Function:

Under the general supervision of the Director of Safety and Risk Management, the Risk and Compliance Manager responsibility is to safeguard the company from risk by assessing and handling all probabilities that may impact the organization, including workers' compensation, all insurance liability claims and maintaining CARF compliance.

Essential Responsibilities:
Responsible for management of the organization's corporate compliance and risk management programs.
Conducts quarterly and annual reviews to monitor adherence to rules and regulations.
Develop compliance strategies or programs for the company based on state and federal laws
Identify and assess potential areas of risk within the organization and collaborate with key personnel to implement system or process changes to mitigate risk and ensure compliance.
Maintains confidentiality of and uses discretion in dealing with sensitive or controversial issues and information.
Receives and processes incident reports for work-related employee injuries, customer injury and unusual incident reports.
Obtains relevant data for filing workers' compensation claims.
Coordinates return-to-work and light duty for all employees returning from work-related injuries.
Files claims with appropriate insurance carriers including but not limited to workers compensation claims and general liability claims.
Maintains accuracy and punctuality of reports and records within the realm of all risk related matters.
Prepares reviews and maintains reports, records, evidence and files in a complete and orderly manner as they relate to the risks in any area of the business.
Audit program and processes of the organizations.
Lead the organization in the maintenance of CARF accreditation and report updates to CARF standards.
Maintain a network of resources for information and guidance related to issues pertaining to regulations.
Prepare presentations and reports as needed that summarize potential corporate risks, current known risks, mitigation and remediation plans, as well as audit trends.
Remain current with and report out changing governmental regulations.
Performs other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:
Three to five years' experience in Workers Compensation, General Liability, Risk Management
Bachelor's degree in related field is preferred
Computer literacy including MS Excel, Word, PowerPoint
Knowledge of laws relating to OSHA
Ability to analyze, solve problems, and make decisions independently
Strong verbal and written communication skills.

Physical Requirements:
Sitting, standing, stooping, bending and reaching, occasionally.
Some light lifting and carrying, occasionally.
Must be willing to travel to all MGI, MGII, E-Commerce, and Excel locations.

Special Requirements:
Must be able to work occasionally after- hours and weekends
Must have a reliable means of transportation.
Must be able to present and lead instructor led training to a group of people at a time.
Must be able to assist training to a group of people at a time.
Ability to maintain the confidentiality of all sensitive communications.
Incumbent must possess a valid driver's license, appropriate insurance coverage and a privately owned reliable means of transportation to travel throughout territory to visit locations.
Must make a commitment to drug-free workplace culture and policy.
