You will be part of the firm's Client Service Risk (CSR) function whose mission is to enable client impact and innovation in a way which manages risks to our clients, people, and the firm. CSR is a globally integrated team with colleagues from diverse professional backgrounds including communications, consulting, government, and law.

This role reports to the Global Head of Life Sciences Risk through colleagues responsible for leading the Life Sciences risk teams in the United States and Canada and can be based within the Americas.
Your Impact
You will work as part of the firm's global Client Service Risk function (CSR), which advises McKinsey's Partners and the Client Service Risk Committee (CSRC - a committee of respected Senior Partners and firm functions professionals that advises on the most complex risks) on how the firm can best serve its clients while managing the risks involved, specifically within the Life Sciences sector.
The role requires excellent judgment, problem-solving skills, and written and oral communication. It needs distinctive interpersonal and collaborative skills, together with exceptional integrity and judgment.
In this role you will triage requests for risk advice, and advise directly on risk questions with involvement from senior risk colleagues on complex or higher risk issues as required. You will compile input needed to resolve risk cases across all tiers (including CSRC cases) while working closely with those leading on the case. You will coordinate and assist with the development of regional risk compacts and risk assessments.
You will be responsible for strengthening CSR's knowledge-management initiatives, contribute to evolving our systems and resources (e.g., knowledge development and radiation, database and workflow tools, codified best practices, templates and other resources). Additionally, you will help ensure robust CSR data integrity and leading creation of insightful CSR reporting and updates for firm leadership and other key stakeholder groups.
You will also contribute to or lead special projects and risk initiatives, including enhancements to the end-to-end Life Sciences risk registration process (e.g. Tier 1, practice risk leaders, CSRC, etc.), risk strategy and other CSR operations efforts.

Your qualifications and skills
- Undergraduate degree
- Strong organizational and database-management skills
- Positive, diplomatic, excellent judgment and good instincts
- Interest in and affinity for risk and professional-standards issues
- Highly collaborative attitude
- Self-motivated and entrepreneurial, with a track record as self-starter
- Comfort with ambiguity
- Prior experience of consulting and/or healthcare sectors is desirable however not essential
- Outstanding English written and oral communication skills, including clear and concise writing and editorial skills, with strong personal presence and credibility; excellent listening skills
- Ability to work across all levels of seniority, cultivating trust-based, peer-counselor relationships
