Description:
Tesla's Global Risk Management and Insurance Team manages the company's corporate insurance, risk management and surety programs for all components of the business. The Risk and Insurance Administrator reports to the Senior Risk & Insurance Manager. This role will manage insurance and surety related transactions, assist in contract review and negotiation, and support the Energy business needs as they arise. This is an evolving position affording the right candidate opportunities for career advancement within the Tesla organization.

Responsibilities
- Provide risk management consultation and guidance to relevant Tesla stakeholders
- Ensure compliance with Tesla's Risk Management and Insurance operating procedures and standard contractual commitments
- Interpret traditional and self-insurance, indemnity and risk of loss language to assist in contractual negotiations
- Process, manage and track certificates or letters of insurances with internal and external stakeholders
- Responsible for surety bond issuance and tracking
- Participate and/or lead trainings relating to risk philosophies, insurance terms and contractual commitments
- Assist the Risk Management and Insurance team on the collection and review of exposure information for insurance purposes
Requirements
- 5+ years' experience in corporate risk management, insurance company or insurance broker environment
- Expert knowledge of surety, commercial insurances, insurance contract language, insurance underwriting and claims processing
- Demonstrated experience with large, multinational insurance programs
- Ability to work independently and prioritize workload while meeting required goals and deadlines
- Strong interpersonal skills to influence and communicate effectively with insurance and non-insurance professionals
- Ability to develop strategic relationships and work collaboratively domestically/internationally and must be proficient in the use of computer software (i.e. Microsoft applications: word, excel, PowerPoint)
- Experience in the renewable energy industry and project/construction insurances strongly preferred as well as prior construction insurance experience
