Position Overview:
Reporting to the VP, Operational Risk, the Risk Reporting and Analytics Manager is responsible for the development and management of analytics to measure and optimize Operational Risk and Control performance. This role applies comprehensive knowledge and skills to generate queries, develop reporting and post-analysis that enable the monitoring and development of risk intelligence activities. The role supports risk data processes and deliverables to evolve and reflect best practices, in collaboration with the Operational Risk and Control team to identify data quality improvement opportunities. The Risk Reporting and Analytics Manager will be the primary lead for all Operational Risk Events (OREs) company-wide.
Responsibilities:
Continuously enhance and manage the Operational Risk Management Program to independently assess and develop quantitative data analysis and data mining solutions, emphasizing the development of database driven reports and analyses.
Acting as the lead on the ongoing management of the corporate policy, Operational Risk Event Reporting and its processes, analysis and reporting impacting business units, Risk Management and Finance.
Develop analyses and reports, on a detailed or aggregate level, around risk and control activities generating insights and analysis to Leadership Team via the Operational Risk Committee and key risk metrics to the Board.
Provide analytical support to the risk and control management function in developing reporting capabilities identifying business units' compliance with the operational risk management program and its tools.
Manage relationships with business units across the organization and BNY's risk and control groups, participating, cooperating and contributing to the Operational Risk and Control team's process and performance improvements.
Develop and maintain departmental policies and procedures and training material.
Participate and collaborate in the creation of a culture that promotes analytics-driven decisions backed by investigation and collaboration around risk data.
Qualifications:
University degree, or equivalent
7+ years progressive risk management experience in the financial services and securities industry including 3+ years in advanced data analytics within financial services and banking sector using Power BI
Expert knowledge and experience with data analytic tools such as Alteryx, Power BI, SaS, Tableau and other tools
Excellent business acumen with ability to drive business insights through data driven analysis
Must have excellent oral and written communication skills.
Sound business judgment, with excellent decision-making and problem solving skills
Must be able to adapt to a changing environment.
Demonstrate ability to work independently, apply judiciousness and manage deliverables on time
