Job Title: Registered Nurse (RN)
Job Specialty: Cath Lab Specialist
Job Duration: 13 Weeks
Shift: 10-hour day shifts, 4 days a week (7:00 am - 5:30 pm), with 7-10 days of on-call including one weekend a month
Guaranteed Hours: 40.00
Experience: Minimum of one year preferred in Cath Lab, EP Study, and Structural Procedures; Experience with Impella, Balloon Pump, Shockwave, CSI, and Laser devices; Experience with administering emergency drugs such as Atropine, Epinephrine, Levophed, Dopamine, etc., and moderate sedation
License: State RN license or RN license from a participating state in the NLC - Required
Certifications: American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) - Required; Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) - Required; Certified Critical-Care RN (CCRN) - Preferred
Must-Have: Radiographic, Cardiac, ACLS, Electrophysiology, ARRT
Job Description:
- Assess patients' physical, psychosocial, cultural, and spiritual needs through observation, interview, and review of medical records and clinical data.
- Evaluate patients' responses and intervene to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
- Develop and implement patient plans of care and observe outcomes in accordance with nursing standards and collaborate with the interdisciplinary team.
- Demonstrate competency in therapeutic/diagnostic interventions including IVs, incision/wound care, medication administration, catheterization, and specimen collections.
- Promote, advocate, and collaborate to protect the health, safety, and rights of each patient.
- Provide patient and family education by assessing learning readiness, needs, and ability.
- Recognize the patient or designee as a full partner in providing compassionate, coordinated care based on respect for preferences, values, and needs.
- Provide relationship-based care, considering cultural differences and the diversity of human experience.
- Delegate to non-RN personnel in accordance with State Board of Nursing and hospital policy.
- Use time, personnel, equipment, and supplies effectively to provide high-quality, cost-effective patient care.
- Serve as a professional role model demonstrating ethical, legal, and professional nursing processes.
- Manage resources and patient flow by matching nursing competencies with individualized patient and unit needs.
- Use standards of care, hospital policies and procedures, and regulatory guidelines to guide practice.
- Function effectively within nursing and inter-professional teams, fostering open communication, mutual respect, and shared decision-making to achieve quality patient care.
- Precept and mentor new staff or nursing students as needed.
- Seek out learning opportunities and continuing education to maintain skills and competence in clinical practice or role performance.
- Evaluate one's own integrity and nursing practice concerning professional practice standards and guidelines.
- Participate in unit-based quality improvement, evidence-based practice, and research activities.
- Use current healthcare research findings and other evidence to expand clinical knowledge and enhance role performance.
This role requires floating to any location within sixty miles of the original assignment or identified float zone, possibly performing duties outside the initial assignment jobs in line with policies.
