Job Title: Registered Nurse - Labor and Delivery Job Specialty: Labor and Delivery Job Duration: Not specified Shift: 12 Hour Nights Guaranteed Hours: 0 hours per week Experience: One year of experience in labor, delivery, postpartum, and nursery care preferred License: Registered Nurse License Certifications: BLS, NRP. Preferred: AWHONN EFM (intermediate, or advanced), STABLE, ACLS. Must-Have: - Experience in triage, labor and delivery, recovery, postpartum, newborn stabilization, and newborn care.- Ability to titrate drips. Common drips include Pitocin, Magnesium, insulin, and TXA. Job Description: - Oversee and provide care for patients in labor and delivery, including triage, recovery, and postpartum care.- Utilize skills in newborn stabilization and care for term and late preterm newborns.- Perform duties according to AWHONN guidelines for nurse-to-patient ratios.- Read and document GE EFM System strips using Obix software.- Work collaboratively with nursing aids and communicate effectively with the on-call team, including OB/Neonatologists, Peds, CNMs, and Anesthesia.- Utilize RT equipment such as Neopuff and CPAP as needed.- Demonstrate capability to manage common diagnoses such as term labor, gestational hypertension, gestational diabetes, induction of labor, and SROM.- Prefer candidates with charge experience, though it is not required.- Provide stabilization and necessary care for newborns aged 35 weeks and above, while transferring those under 35 weeks as needed.- Engage in continuous professional development, embracing opportunities to enhance skills in newborn and maternal care.
